Denzel Curry & Rick Ross Give Props To Miami On “BIRDZ”

The track comes from Curry’s latest record “ZUU.”

“I wanted to make my version of The Chronic,” is how Denzel Curry ended his interview with us as he spoke at length about his latest project, ZUU. On Friday morning, the 24-year-old released his highly-anticipated followup to TA13OO, and although it’s only been out for a few hours, fans are already calling out their favorite tracks. There are many standouts on ZUU, and taking into consideration the versatility of the tracks, it’s difficult to choose which favorite is…well…a favorite.

On “BIRDZ”, along with many other songs on the record, Curry purposefully chose Flordia artists to collaborate with. Maybach Music’s Rick Ross joins forces with Curry on the track and the two maintain an untouchable energy throughout. The two proud Florida artists boast about their city as they spit rhymes about not caring about the world’s opinions of them.

Speaking on the lyricism of ZUU, Curry told us, “Yeah. I didn’t make it overly complex. TA1300 was overly complex. Too many complex bars within it. I just wanted to keep it simple and plain. Straight to the point. Just get down to business. Forget the dilly-dallying.”

Quotable Lyrics

Pray I keep it all, like the Sunday Service, uh
My pastor making dollars like he Erick Sermon
Lord forgive me for my tendencies, yeah
Got an evil plan for my mini-mes, yeah

He’s slowly released new singles over the past few weeks and a week before the project arrives, he drops off “Sweet Thangs.”

Tee Grizzley’s back with his third single off of Scriptures following “God’s Warrior” and “Locked Up.” Grizzley’s storytelling skills are at its finest on his new single, “Sweet Thangs” as he delivers a vivid interpretation of his life before rap music and going to prison over sinister production.

Peep Grizzley’s latest track below and make sure you keep your eyes peeled for his new project Scriptures which is due out on June 7th.

Quotable Lyrics
If you ain’t with the squad then you free game
I’m done givin’ passes to these sweet thangs
Catch you comin’ out the jeweler, get a free chain

Gucci Mane Drops “Love Thru The Computer” Ft. Justin Bieber

Cover

The pair trade verses about finding the perfect woman.

Guwop has joined forces with the Biebs for their rap-pop single “Love Thru The Computer.” The track samples Zapp & Roger’s 1986 classic hit “Computer Love,” and on the track, Gucci Mane raps about searching for his “Mrs. Perfect.” He opens by talking about being behind bars while thinking about scheming once he was released, but then while flipping through a magazine he came across a woman that he needed to be with.

Bieber adds his autotuned vocals into the mix as he talks about linking up with a woman via a laptop. The light-hearted, bounce-influenced single is a crossover that both artists’ fans can enjoy. It’s safe to assume that the only love, computer or otherwise, that Gucci has been receiving has been with his wife Keyshia Ka’Oir. The hip hop couple can’t help but share their happily in love status on social media as they are not shy about showing off their affections. Check out Gucci and Justin Bieber‘s collaboration and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

Lookin’ through this magazine, she was so fine
Pretty brown, black b*tch with a draft pick
High, yellow thick chick with an accent (Yellow)
I told her,  I ain’t ever seen another cuter (No)
Good brain, she don’t even need a tutor (Wow)
