Philly Legendary Producer and Songwriter Thom Bell Dead At 79
A prolific songwriter, producer, and arranger. As one of the original creators of Philly Soul, he worked with countless legends, including The Delfonics, The Spinners, and The O’Jays. He wrote and arranged timeless records like I’ll Be Around and Betcha By Golly Wow by The Stylistics, Backstabber by the O’Jays and More .

Kirshnik Khari Ball (June 18, 1994 – November 1, 2022), known professionally as Takeoff, an American rapper. He was best known as a youngest member of the hip hop trio Migos along with his uncle Quavo and first cousin once removed Offset. The group scored multiple top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including “MotorSport” featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, “Stir Fry“, “Walk It Talk It” featuring Drake, and “Bad and Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, the latter of which peaked at the top of the chart. He also received two Grammy Award nominations. On November 1, 2022, Ball was assassinated in Houston, Texas

It was released on July 22, 2022 through Pro Era Records and Cinematic Music Group with license to Columbia Records. The album features guest appearances from Diddy, Westside Gunn, Larry June, Chris Brown, Capella Grey, and JID. Production of the album was handled primarily by Statik Selektah and Chuck Strangers, with contributions from Erick the Architect, McClenney, Mike Will Made It, Kirk Knight, and Cardiak.

Lucky Daye Releases ‘Candydrip (Deluxe)’ Album
Lucky Daye has reissued his sophomore album, Candydrip, with a deluxe edition.
D’Mile also co-wrote and co-produced “Apply Pressure” with Ben Maddahi. Here, Daye is crushing hard on a fly woman he wants to explore romantic possibilities with. The fact she isn’t giving in as quickly to his advances as he’d like it’s affecting his male self-esteem. He’s still doing his best to impress.
“Over,” the lead single from Candydrip, entered at No. 92 the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s his first entry on the main singles chart. The Musiq Soulchild-sampled tune reached No. 77 in the April 09 issue.
On Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, “Over” peaked at No. 14, while it climbed to No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.
This fall, Daye released Candydrip as a double LP vinyl. It’s available at Target, Amazon, Barnes & Nobles and Elusive Disc, among other music retailers. Vinyl prices range from $26.99 to $33.99.
Daye is nominated for five 2023 Grammys, including Best R&B Album (Candydrip) and Best R&B Performance (“Over”).
His other nods come from his writing credits on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) and Beyoncé’s Renaissance.
He co-wrote Blige’s title track with Blige, H.E.R., Tiara Thomas and D’Mile. It’s up for Best R&B Song, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Record of the Year.
As a co-songwriter on Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) and Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Daye is acknowledged as a double Album of the Year nominee.
He co-wrote “Alien Superstar,” from Beyoncé’s latest platinum album.
