JAY ELECTRONICA WAS SO MOVED BY NIPSEY HUSSLE & BIG SEAN’S SONG THAT HE LEFT THE STUDIO WHEN HE HEARD IT

Jay Electronica really, really likes Big Sean‘s new record with Nipsey Hussle.

Back in March, HipHopDX spoke to G. Ry, one of the producers on the newly-released “Deep Reverence” (alongside Rogét Chahayed, Audio Anthem and Hit-Boy). While he was discussing working with Electronica, he recalled a time in January when the Roc Nation rapper heard the Sean and Nip record for the first time.

“He dropped in one day and he listened to one song that me and Hit-Boy produced for Big Sean that features Nipsey Hussle,” G said. “He listened to that song and he was just like, so mind-blown. He was like, ‘This is amazing. I have to go.’ He was literally there just for that 3 minutes and 40 seconds and left. … He was like, ‘This is so incredible. I heard everything that I needed. I have to go now.’”

KANYE WEST & HIT-BOY ARE EXECUTIVE PRODUCING BIG SEAN’S ‘DETROIT 2’ ALBUM

According to G. Ry, Nipsey recorded his verse around the same time he made the Grammy Award-winning record “Racks In The Middle” with Roddy Ricch. After Nip’s passing, Sean heard the record when he pulled up to start working on Detroit 2 with G and Hit-Boy and it became the first one he cut with the pair of producers.

Watch the full convo with G. Ry up top, and revisit “Deep Reverence” below.
