Wale announced his surprise EP “The Imperfect Storm” less than 24 hours ago, and it’s a project that speaks heavily to the times we’re currently experiencing.

Early Thursday (June 18), Wale shared that he planned on dropping a surprise project titled The Imperfect Storm. The cover art looked to show the remnants of looting and rioting that occurred in a few cities across America recently, so expect to hear the activist and rapper tackle heavy topics on the record. The EP includes two features by McClenney and Eric Bellinger, rounding out at six tracks. Prepare for Wale to take you on a journey.

Wale was recently on the frontlines of protests and witnessed the interactions between the peaceful, the fired up, and the police. He’s never been one to mince words when it comes to addressing socio-political or socio-economic issues in his rhymes, and The Imperfect Storm is no different. He also gives us more background into his upbringing, his mindset, and overall shares his opinion on today’s culture. Give Wale’s latest project a few spins and let us know which lyrics resonated with you the most.

2. Empty Wishing Well ft. Eric Bellinger
