Iggy Azalea Is All The Way Unapologetic On “Started”

Iggy’s preparing for her forthcoming release, “In My Defense.”

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea continues to storm through her unapologetic series of singles with her latest release titled “Started.” Last December she inked a deal with EMPIRE and since then the “Fancy” rapper has been moving in stealth as she prepares for her forthcoming release. Her previous J. White-produced single “Sally Walker” will appear alongside “Started” on Iggy’s long-awaited sophomore release, In My Defense.

The rapper revealed to iHeartRadio that J. White produced every album on her record. “We were fans of the same things and that made for a good connection, and he did every song. The whole thing is such a collaboration and it’s made it, so, I don’t know, it’s just so sticky and gluey and all good in one thing, and that’s what I love about it. So excited about it. It was the best time making it.” She went on to say that as soon as her team heard “Started,” they instantly knew it was a favorite…that is until she created “Freak of the Week.” We’ll just have to wait for that one.

Quotable Lyrics

Do you hate that you love me or do you love that you hate me?
All you bitches be bitin’, I hope you don’t give me rabies
You can say what you want about me as long as you pay me
I’m just tryna get them M’s and I ain’t talking some Shady

Blueface Obsesses Over His Cryp Testimonial On “Stop Cappin”

Blueface offers yet another mop-driven testimonial with “Stopp Cappin.”

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Blueface is here to blur the lines between rap capping and bringing the mop out. The new “Stop Cappin” music video paints Blueface in a familiar position, behind his favorite “mopstick” gimmick. Like DJ Kay Slay a decade before him (see the Streetsweeper saga), the allusion of a mop is a playful means to a menacing front. Imagine an author concealing their subversive content to reach a wider demographic, Blueface and the team behind his every whim, have made “pulling the mop out” a well-devised part of the overall scheme.

As of this writing, “Stop Coppin” is only available in its nascent video form. Within the past 24 hours, the music video has amassed just under 1 million streams on YouTube, where it looks destined for a strong second day of coverage (obey the light). Like 90% of his catalog to date, “Stop Coppin” doesn’t try for change in perspective. As always, Blueface is about his “crypn,” despite a gang moratorium coming into effect following Nipsey Hussle‘s death.

Quotable Lyrics:

Shoot a movie in this bitch with extended clips
Baby feel guilty when I knock down the incense
Glock with a dick for a Jehovah’s if he witnessed it
It’s not about how you start, it’s ’bout how you finish it.
