Earl Sweatshirt & Lucki Are Stylistic Twins On “All In”

Cover

Lucki and Earl declared themselves “best friends” upon hearing a tape of hazy instrumentals.

It’s no wonder that Earl and Lucki have developed such spirited chemistry. Both rappers previously approached instrumentals with a dexterous flow, only undergo a borderline drastic stylistic transformation in later years. While the shift proved alienating to some, the core fans who stuck it through found themselves reaping the benefits. Now, both Lucki and Earl have come through for a collaboration on the former’s upcoming Freewave 3, which is set to arrive this week. The track, which is currently available in select international markets, seems to pick up where Earl’s “Some Rap Songs” left off. Which is to say, hazy and cryptic.

Taking to a slowed down, vocal-driven beat, Lucki kicks things off with a surprisingly up-tempo flow, though his cadence suggests a hangover at the very least. “I’m picky lil bitch, don’t want her friend round me less she look good as my bitch,” spits Lucki, continuing an intricate “bitch” centric rhyme scheme. Earl comes through to finish it off, and prove that he stands among the game’s most intricate lyricists. Peep the track, and check back for Freewave 3, dropping tomorrow.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m picky, lil bitch, don’t want her friend ’round me ‘less she look good as my bitch
I need two of them shits, I need no ni***a ’round me but I’m Dash, so it come with the shit
You gon’ fuck with the shit, off-beat babies
I’m a demon, I can’t keep my mind off this bitch

Mac Miller Pops Up On Seth Hirsch’s “Say Goodbye:” The Anti-Valentine’s Anthem

Cover

Mac Miller & Seth Hirsch shed light on toxic relationships.

Up-and-coming rapper Seth Hirsch has come out of nowhere to include a posthumous Mac Millerverse to his song “Say Goodbye.” The song was uploaded to Audiomack in the late afternoon yesterday, only to be forcibly removed shortly thereafter. After ruffling some feathers, Hirsch got his song authenticated on DatPiff where it currently stands at 11,000 views, with aspirations to do big Valentine’s Day numbers.

But this ain’t your typical Valentino moment. As Seth Hirsch confided in Complex, “Say Goodbye” is really a song about toxic relationships, and on that note: new beginnings.

“After Mac passed away, I realized this song was about a lot more than that,” Hirsch said of Mac’s pertinence to the song. “It’s really about struggling to say goodbye to our personal demons and the chains they put on us. This song is such a window into Mac Miller’s soul and what he was going through.”

Mac’s Swimming was up for the “Best Rap Album” on Grammy weekend but was passed over. Cardi B, who wound up winning the award for her debut Invasion of Privacy, was generous in her acceptance speech, with her intention to share the prestigious achievement with the late rapper, forevermore.

Quotable Lyrics:

Goddamn it, baby; why you so shady?
You lie, oh, you lie
I know I might be crazy, but you might be wastin’ my time
And Lord knows I’ve tried
So keep it real.

Soulja Boy Reintroduces Classic Tag With “Crank That Big Drako”

Cover

The return of Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em.

With a new project on the way, Soulja Boy is ready to make an even bigger impact than he already has this year. Over a decade ago, the rapper blessed us with “Crank That Soulja Boy,” a track that ended up living forever. Until a few months ago, Big Drako was destined to continue his downward spiral. However, he managed a way to switch his previous L’s to W’s. His video game consoles actually ended up earning him money and he became a walking meme after his viral “Drake?!?” interview. He’s released tons of new music in the last few weeks and today, he comes through with a re-imagination of his iconic song.

No longer are we cranking that Soulja Boy. Now, we’re onto new things. “Crank That Big Drako” is a track from Soulja’s upcoming project and it has just been shared a little early with the fans. With production by Drako himself, the rapper brings back the memorable “Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em” tag at the beginning of this cut. Unfortunately, it doesn’t hit as hard as the original “Crank That” did but we’re sure Soulja’s diehard fans will enjoy this nevertheless.

How Can You Blame Me? is currently set to release in July. Are you feeling the new Soulja Boy?

Quotable Lyrics:

Big Drako rock Fendi hoe
Watch me crank and watch me roll
Real shit, n***a got bricks for the low
Watch me crank that Big Drako
