Teyana Taylor continues in her appreciation of the Ballroom scene.

Teyana Taylor‘s latest release is one that appeases the notable “Ballroom” figures she doted on to create her femme anthem “WTP.” The NY-bred singer/dancer has enlisted a host of big names from the Ballroom and House music scenes, so as to ensure a certain level of respectability over her adoption of their stylistic components on “WTP,” the ways of which Madonna brought further attention to the phenomenon that is/was voguing – born out of NY’s drag community in the late 80s.After proving herself an ally to the Queer community with the “WTP” video rollout featuring Lena Waithe and Mykki Blanco, Teyana Taylor has tapped producers such as Junior Sanchez, Zookëper, Tommie Sunshine, SLATIN, and BAUT on a fact-finding mission with the sole purpose of re-investing in the birdfeeder, for lack of a better expression.

Teyana Taylor has quietly gone against the grain since her G.O.O.D. Music unveiling (after years of relative inactivity). Here’s to hoping Teyana Taylor sticks to the subversive elements which have designated her a precious ally.
