That makeup comment is likely in reference to the haters who have expressed their dislike when it comes to Cliff’s style.
“I get backlash every day, child, especially from angry women: “Oh, you’re never gonna be a woman, you’re never gonna do this, you’re never gonna do that.” People be trying to slander me, but I ignore it. A lot of people be like, “Oh, my gosh, Cliff, you should get boobs,” and I’m like, “No, I don’t want boobs.” Then, a lot of people ask me, am I transitioning? I get a lot of backlash, but one thing I will say is, publicly, it has helped my career. People know who I am. People already knew who I was.”
He acknowledges that a lot of people have told him to “stick to hair,” especially since many believe the world might not be ready for a gay rapper. The aspiring artist is ready to take on the challenge.
“If you really, really think about it, these people think I wake up and say, “Oh, I’m gonna ask them what they think I should do.” No, I’m gonna do what’s gonna make me happy, because at the end of the day, I’m the one that has to do it.”
