Mariah Carey Suggests Eminem 'Didn't Pertain To The Actual Meaning' Of Her Life

Gossip reports have claimed Eminem’s stressing over Mariah Carey’s memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, but she says Slim Shady has nothing to worry about.

In a profile for Vulture, Carey dismissively reacted to a question asking if her brief relationship with Em is covered in the book. The diamond-selling singer implied the Shady Records boss didn’t even warrant a mention in her upcoming memoir.

“There’s some songs that I can sing in response to that, but I will not do it,” she said. “If somebody or something didn’t pertain to the actual meaning of Mariah Carey, as is the title, then they aren’t in the book.”

In July, an US Weekly story cited an inside source who asserted Eminem was concerned about Carey releasing a memoir. The source referred to her as his “Achilles heel,” noting he was “expecting the onslaught.”

Carey has said it took her decades to build up the courage to write her memoir. On the book’s website, she describes what it details.

“This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival and my songs,” she wrote. “Unfiltered. I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.”

The Meaning Of Mariah Carey is scheduled to drop on September 29. Pre-order it here.
