It’s been five years since The Weeknd released his Grammy Award-winning 4x platinum sophomore album, Beauty Behind the Madness.

To commemorate the project that launched his career into an entirely new stratosphere, the Toronto crooner released a merchandise collection that includes jackets, tees, hoodies and more. BBTM debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 412,000 album-equivalent units in 2015, and went on to also receive an Oscar nomination for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack single, “Earned It.” The album also featured Hot 100 No. 1 hits “The Hills” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”

Since its release, the XO singer has released two more studio albums – with his most recent release being March’s After Hours. Like BBTM, After Hours debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with an astounding 444,000 album equivalent units, which was the biggest 2020 debut at the time. The record has since been broken by the late Juice Wrld, however, whose posthumous effort Legends Never Die sold 497,000 units in the first week following its July 10 release.

Abel also gifted fans with new music this week, teaming up with fellow hitmaker Calvin Harris for the first time on “Over Now.” The track was released along with a CGI-enhanced visual that brings listeners into a retro futurism-based world of psychedelics.
