IDK connects with Maxo Kream and Denzel Curry for the spooky banger “Bulletproof” off his new “IDK & Friends 2” joint.

Insofar as “new school” collaborations go, this lineup of IDK, Denzel Curry, and Maxo Kream is pretty damn top tier. The song in question is “Bulletproof,” which stems from IDK’s brand new album IDK & Friends 2which officially landed late last night. As expected, this stacked collaboration quickly emerges as a highlight. Immediately striking a spooky tone with some production from IDK and FZN, Denzel opens things up with some wailing vocals — alas, the Zuu rapper only comes through for the chorus, but his presence is appreciated all the same.

Though both IDK and Maxo can and have upped the dexterity in the past, they both opt for a more methodical flow, finding common ground in the menacing subject matter. For the most part, “Bulletproof” is a game of oneupmanship as to who can cut a more formidable cloth, and though IDK fares admirably, few can hold a candle to Maxo Kream’s larger than life and notably g’d up persona. “This n***a acting like he trappin’, real-life cappin’, he a ho,” sneers Kream. “For all that actin’ get to clappin’, shoot a n***a like B-roll.” Check out the collaboration right now, and sound off — did this one live up to the potential of the lineup?
