SiR honors an Isley Brothers classic with his take on “Footsteps In The Dark” for the “Black Sounds Beautiful” campaign.

When it comes to the R&B conversation, TDE‘s SiR is not mentioned nearly enough. Not only does the Inglewood melodist boast one of the game’s smoothest voices, but his discography is quietly standing tall with quality releases like November and Dear Summer. And while recent singles “John Redcorn” and “Hair Down” have the masses coveting new SiR vibes, today the singer came through to hold it down for a worthwhile cause, the “Black Sounds Beautiful” campaign.

Opting to try his hand at the Isley Brothers’ classic “Footsteps In The Dark,” SiR provides his own take on the instantly-recognizable vibe. For the first forty seconds, he allows the band to set the tone, losing himself in the lush arrangement. The minute he opens his mouth to sing, it’s clear that SiR is dedicated to doing the track justice. Never overtly flashy, SiR shows impressive restraint as he glides over the beat, which would go on to pave the way for Ice Cube‘s classic “Today Was A Good Day.”

Check it out for yourself now, and look for more contributions to “Black Sounds Beautiful” to emerge all throughout June. How are you feeling about SiR these days?
