Knxwledge takes some time out from serial dating and loan sharking.

Knxwledge’s issues out beat tapes like a parishioner combing through their notes. The beatmaker noted for his work with Paak and Kendrick Lamar, among others, returns with ca beat tape tinged with memories of the past, some less insular than others. The album cover borrows the proverb “Poor are those who have eyes but cannot see,” words first muttered to describe esoteric knowledge of sacred art and ancient hand-me-downs.Knxwledge has a habit of releasing material when we least expect it, usually on a quiet weekend afternoon while he catches up on sleep. Included on HEX.PRT12 is Knxwledge’s refix of Cardi B‘s “Be Careful,” a song that carries a tone that permeates throughout the beat tape. It’s no secret likes to subvert tone and feeling, of the songs he samples. On “ifikudgo” completely flips the script on the Angie Martinez’ classic “If I Could Go,” upending her bravado with jazzier tones. Knxwledge sure enjoys playing Heinrich von Frankenstein with his cadavers.Give ‘er a listen.

LOS ANGELES, CA – After the GRAMMY-nominated Tyler, The Creator crashed his SUV in Los Angeles on the night of October 25, he revealed that he made the all-too-familiar (and frightening) mistake of falling asleep behind the wheel.

The Daily Mail reports that at 12 a.m., near the UCLA campus, the former Odd Future frontman dozed off at the wheel of his Tesla Model X after leaving a studio session, resulting in a dangerous crash. The car was destroyed when it slammed into a parked car. No injuries were reported on the scene.

Tyler took to his Instagram stories hours after the incident, thanking Elon Musk for the car’s “excessive airbags” and being in good spirits.

‘my big doopy a**s usually go to sleep 10:30 (i wake up at 7 er morn) and guess who wanted to finish music super late and dosed off for a few seconds while driving home,’ he wrote.

He then added, ‘im a dumb a** bitch but lil mama dont have a scratch im lucky. i calmly jumped out the back and called the people. thanks elon for the excessive airbags u a qt. good day sir.’

The impact was so destructive, according to additional reporting from The Blast, that the parked Honda CR-V shoved 50 feet away, leaving Tyler’s whip a crumbled mess.

No charges have been filed against the 27-year-old rapper.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced In Child Sexual Assault Case

Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced In Child Sexual Assault Case

NEW YORK, NY – Tekashi 6ix9ine was back in a New York City courtroom on Friday (October 26) to face the repercussions of his 2015 child sexual assault case.

According to TMZ, a judge slapped 6ix9ine with four years of probation, 1,000 hours of community service and a directive to stay away from gang members and any gang activity. Any new arrests will be deemed as a probation violation, which could lead to prison time.

The judge gave him credit for one-year served, meaning his probation will end in 2021.

In October 2015, the rainbow-loving rapper pleaded guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance. He struck a plea deal and was given a two-year deferred sentence.

According to legal documents, prosecutors say 6ix9ine was at a party in Harlem where a naked 13-year-old girl was taped engaging in sexual acts with another man.

The then 18-year-old rapper stood “behind the child making a thrusting motion with his pelvis and smacking on her buttocks.”

Following two arrests in Texas and New York, 6ix9ine’s team filed a letter with the judge claiming both arrests don’t constitute as violations of his plea deal.

His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, argued they both occurred long after the October 2017 deadline on his plea deal.

Prosecutors had recommended one to three years in prison.

“Just finished mixing the album,” Dre wrote. “It’s a celebration bitches!!” thereafter, Paak confirmed the news on Twitter.

“ALBUM DONE,” he tweeted. “Time to bring it back home.”

Dre and Paak first collaborated on the former’s Compton project in 2015. The artist formerly known as Breezy Lovejoy contributed vocals for six of the tracks on Dre’s comeback album.

Paak’s currently untitled album will be his first project for Aftermath after signing with Dre’s imprint in 2016. Just weeks prior to his signing, he released the critically acclaimed MalibuLP, which earned him a Grammy nomination.

Paak also teamed with producer Knxwledge — together known as NxWorries — for a collaborative album titled Yes Lawd! in 2016. The project was released through Stones Throw Records despite Paak’s Aftermath contract.

Young Thug Teases Upcoming Remix Of Future & Moneybagg Yo’s “OKAY”

Young Thug seems to be gearing up to drop a remix of Moneybagg Yo and Future’s collaboration, “OKAY.”

It’s been over a year since Young Thug and Future teamed up for their joint effort, Super Slimey. However, they’ve served up a few collaborations since then including “Red Bentley” which appeared on Future and Juice WRLD’s collaborative project, WRLD On Drugs which dropped last week. However, Young Thug took to Instagram today to tease a new verse on an upcoming remix of Moneybagg Yo and Future’s “OKAY.”Despite saying that he wouldn’t release music over the course of 2018 out of respect for his deaf brother, Thug still graced us with two EP’s and a compilation. The rapper is now getting ready to hop on the official remix to Moneybagg Yo and Future’s “OKAY.” The rapper took to his Instagram story to tease a few snippets of his verse on the track.

Thug’s collaborated with both Future and Moneybagg Yo in the past. Obviously, Thugger and Future delivered their joint project, but they’ve continued to collaborate on other tracks since then including the recently leaked, “Whole Lotta Racks.”

Moneybagg Yo and Thug worked together on the tracks, “Buss Down” which appeared on the former’s August EP, Bet On Me. They also collaborated on “Mandatory Drug Test” off of Moneybagg Yo and Youngboy Never Broke Again‘s joint project, Fed Baby’s.

It’s unsure when we could expect Thugger’s remix of “OKAY,” but we’re looking forward to it.

While he’s unsure of when they’ll see the light of day, he revealed that there’s one song that might have Rihanna vocals on them and another that’s expected to have The Weeknd on it.

“We actually have like nine more songs together with X that are coming out,” he revealed. “One is gonna go for Rihanna. So, there’s another one that The Weeknd is possibly going to get on right now. It’s crazy. The kid was so talented. X was so talented that he sounded like three different artists on one song.”

The Weeknd previously showed love to XXXTENTACION upon the release of the late rapper’s sophomore album. The Toronto singer simply tweeted “?” which ultimately turned into a meme. X also credited The Weeknd’s early music for shaping him as a human being and an artist.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Bodyguard Shot During Post-Sentencing Celebration: Report

6ix9ine’s security guard was reportedly hit in a shooting at a New York City restaurant.

This past week has been a stressful one for Tekashi 6ix9ine. The rapper had numerous court appearances lined up including the sentencing for his child sex case. Although the prosecutors were close to having 6ix9ine locked up, the judge opted to give the Brooklyn rapper four years of probation along with 1000 hours of community service. While 6ix9ine and his crew were out celebrating the good news, a shooting occurred at the restaurant they were eating at and unfortunately, his bodyguard got hit.A shooting occurred during Tekashi 6ix9ine’s post-sentencing celebration at a New York City restaurant which resulted in his bodyguard being struck by a bullet,TMZ reports. Tekashi 6ix9ine was heading to a meeting with an executive at his label, 10k Projects Records. The executive’s bodyguard reportedly turned away everyone in 6ix9ine’s crew except for the rapper which prompted an argument between the two security guards. While the two men were arguing, a third party came up and fired four shots, one of which hit 6ix9ine’s bodyguard in the stomach. The bodyguard was taken to the hospital afterward.

The shooting comes hours after the judge told Tekashi 6ix9ine to keep out of trouble if he doesn’t want to risk going to jail, as part of his probation sentence. However, Tekashi 6ix9ine wasn’t actually involved with the altercation that occurred.

We’ll keep you posted on more details.

Travis Scott Shares Epic Footage Of “Sicko Mode” Performance At ACL Festival

“SICKO MODE” is undoubtedly a crowd pleaser.

Travis Scott ascended to a new level in his career with the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Astroworld. The project’s been in the works for years and in early August, fans finally received the project from Scott. “SICKO MODE” was an immediate highlight off of the project and served as the project’s lead single. He was seen at various stops on Drake‘s “Aubrey & The Three Migos” tour where the Canadian rapper brought out Scott to perform their collab. The rapper recently headlined Austin City Limits Festival and shared some insane footage of his performance of his top 10 single.Travis Scott had the crowd going crazy during his set at ACL, but it was his performance of “SICKO MODE” that had the crowd really raging. The rapper uploaded high-quality footage of the epic performance to his YouTube page for his fans across the world to watch. The rapper performed alongside Mike Dean who played a huge role in the making of Astroworld.

Interestingly enough, the rapper cut out Swae Lee’s part from the song. Upon the release of the “SICKO MODE” video, Swae Lee said that he’ll “keep note” of the fact that nobody reached out to him to shoot the visuals for the top 10 hit, even though he sang the track’s bridge.

“SICKO MODE” is currently double platinum and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

50 Cent Trolls Ja Rule By Purchasing 200 Tickets To His Show So Seats Stay Empty

50 may have outdone himself this time.

50 Cent could make a living off trolling his peers. Who wouldn’t watch Fif’ interfere with the lives of those around him if it were formatted for a thirty-minute television show? Although he does have 50 Central, the G-unit creator does much more hilarious damage in the real world. Earlier this week, Fif’ took shots at Ashanti for canceling a show after only 24 tickets were sold to the event. In the now deleted post, 50 wrote, “Do Basement parties then it can still feel like it’s lit,” trolling the minuscule amount of fans that would have attended. Ashantiresponded to the rapper, which of course prompted him to continue to troll Ashanti’s record label as a whole.

After he posted a tongue-in-cheek promotion for Ja Rule‘s concert, where tickets were going for only $15, Fif took it up a notch. Instead of simply promoting the deal for others, Fif’ decided to capitalize on the affordable tickets by buying 200 of them himself. “Lol at $15 a pop you can’t lose, I got 200 tickets for 3 bands,” wrote Fif’ on an Instagram post revealing his scheme. The tickets were a part of a Groupon special, which isn’t exactly a lucrative place for an artist to acquire tour funds. There’s little doubt that a Ja Rule clap back is being created at this very moment.

Wyclef Jean’s Life Story Becoming Animated Netflix Series

Netflix’s upcoming animated series will center around Wyclef Jean’s Haitian upbringing.

Wyclef Jean is about to open up about his childhood since Netflix has signed on to create an animated series about his youth, Deadline reports. The script will be penned by Disney’s Jungle Book screenwriter Justin Marks and revolve around Wyclef’s upbringing in Haiti.“I grew up in extreme poverty but I was rich with imagination,” the former Fugees member said. “Now to see that imagination turn into reality with Netflix and my producing partners makes me want to tell the kids from the slums around the world to never stop dreaming.””When Wyclef first came to us with the rich story idea for an animated film about his personal journey and the evolution of his music from when he was a young boy in Haiti to finding his voice in New York City—we were hooked,” Netflix VP of kids and family Melissa Cobb added.

The project is currently untitled but keep it locked on the site for more details.

Pusha T Is Aiming To Have Kanye West Entirely Produce “Daytona” Follow-Up

Pusha T’s details his follow-up to his critically acclaimed May release, “Daytona.”

It hasn’t even been six months since Pusha T dropped his third solo studio album, Daytona but he’s already plotting on his next release, which he wants to drop before the year ends. In an interview with Complex, the rapper revealed details about the project including linking up with Kanye West to wrap it up.Pusha T has more music for the fans that he hopes to drop before the end of the year. The rapper revealed that he’s gunning to drop off the follow-up to Daytonabefore 2019 comes. While discussing aiming to have the Album Of The Year each year, he said that he still has hopes to release a new project soon.”That’s definitely a goal, but I’m actually trying to make this year,” he said about releasing his forthcoming album.

Push also revealed that his forthcoming album will consist of entirely new music. He won’t be adding any cuts that didn’t make Daytona, which include the tracks he worked on The Neptunes and The-Dream for the project before Kanye insisted he produces the project in its entirety, but he isn’t opposed to releasing them as loose singles.

“It’s its own thing, a brand new cook-up,” he revealed about the project.

He also said that as of now, Kanye West will also be holding down the album’s production entirely, but in the case that doesn’t work out, he has some a list of “heavy hitters” for back-up.

“Im going to see how [Kanye] wants to finish this up. If not, I always got a heavy hitter list in my back pocket,” he said.

Busta Rhymes Shouts Out Rah Digga, Announces New Flipmode Squad Album

Busta Rhymes has reassembled the squadron.

Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga, Rampage, Spliff Star, Baby Sham and Lord Have Mercy occupy a sizeable branch on the greater hip-hop family tree. Those unfamiliar with the name Flipmode Squad are likely new to the game, and as such, can be forgiven. If, perchance, you’re only familiar with Busta Rhymes through 50 Cent‘s various Instagram antics, rest assured that there is homework to be done. The musical roots run deep, and as of today, they are about to get deeper.”SALUTE THE 1ST LADY OF THE FLIPMODE FAMILY @therealrahdigga,” writes Busta, shouting out Dirty Harriett via Twitter. “NEW FLIPMODE SQUAD ALBUM SOON COME!!!” The project is somewhat surprising, though we might have speculated movements were afoot, upon receiving “Flipmode Squad Meets The Conglomerate,” a modern-day posse cut for the ages. The project has yet to land a release date, but as of today, the cat is officially out of the bag. Ya’ll looking forward to some new Flipmode?

Busta Rhymes has been lighting up his Twitter timeline with colorful announcements lately. After unveiling the first Flipmode Squad single in 20 years last week, Bus-A-Bus is back with another tantalizing tidbit of information — a new Flipmode album is on it way.

Early Friday morning (October 26), the storied MC/producer tweeted in all caps, “SALUTE THE 1ST LADY OF THE FLIPMODE FAMILY @therealrahdigga

Flipmode Squad — Busta, Rah Digga, Rampage, Spliff, Baby Sham and Lord Have Mercy — kicked off their career with 1998’s The Imperial. Meanwhile, Busta was gaining steam with his solo career. He’s has nine studio albums under his belt, culminating with 2012’s Year of the Dragon.

Fans have been anticipating a Busta solo album to drop for the past nine years. In a recent conversation with Ebro Darden and Zane Lowe, the Flipmode mastermind explained Dr. Dre was partially to blame for the delay.

“Nine albums later, I’m working on an album for nine years,” Busta said. “The album that I’m getting ready to release, I’ve been recording this shit since 2000 and fucking nine. I credit that patience to the Dr. Dre experience because when I was in Aftermath, this was the first time that I was stripped of all the memorabilia of my accolades and what I’ve accomplished and how great Busta Rhymes is; in my own head and from the people and from my fucking résumé.”

Although Busta hasn’t revealed a release date or title for either the solo project or Flipmode album, we’ll likely get at least one before the year is up.

Jennifer Lopez Is A Sexy “Malibu Barbie” In Bad Bunny Collab Teaser

Jennifer Lopez has her fans ready!

Last week Jennifer Lopez shared a behind the scenes video that saw her and Bad Bunny working on their upcoming music video for their unreleased collaboration. Unfortunately, the song or video is not here yet, but another look at what’s in store for the visual has arrived since JLo has uploaded a photo of herself in a sexy two-piece bikini dubbing herself a “Malibu Barbie.”It’s safe to say the upcoming track will be a spicy one with the amount of hype surrounding Bad Bunny (who just dropped off a track with Drake) and the ever-lasting love of JLo.”Music is something no one can control. Music belongs to the people. To no one else. To no one else,” Bunny previously told Billboard. “No one tells me what to do with my music. Real. My mom doesn’t tell what to say, how is someone else going to? The only person I cared about [in that regard] is my mom and she accepts me.”Check out the photo below and keep it locked on the site for the song’s official release.

Nicki Minaj’s Brother’s Rape Case Receives Juror Misconduct Inquiry

Jurors in Jelani Maraj’s rape case are being reviewed.

Nicki Minaj‘s brother, Jelani Maraj, was convicted of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter last year after weeks of trial dates and witnesses taking the stand. Almost a year later, the defense team of Jelani has aired suspicion of jury misconduct that has forced a judge to order an inquiry, Newsday reports.”There is a need for the Court to conduct a hearing to determine the nature of the material placed before the jury and whether that material created a substantial risk of prejudice to the defendant,” the judge wrote. The allegations detail how the alternate juror told other jurors that if Nicki Minaj did not show up to testify then Jelani was guilty. Some jurors also talked about the case against the judge’s instructions and noted how they couldn’t “wait for him to be found guilty.” Other jurors read blogs and watched The Wendy Williamsshow where the talk show host slammed Jelani for being guilty. The alternate juror did not deny the latter and wrote that if anytime “someone began to discuss what just transpired in the courtroom, I or another juror would remind them that we are not supposed to talk about that and the conversation would cease.”The defense tried to claim prosecutorial misconduct as well, but the judge found that “notwithstanding some possible improprieties on the part of the prosecutor,” evidence was “more than legally sufficient” to prove Jelani as guilty.

XXXTENTACION’s “Arms Around You” Excludes Rio Santana For Big Features

Singer Rio Santana’s has been teasing the collaboration with XXXTENTACION since 2017.

We’ve received a lot more posthumous singles from XXXTENTACION over the past few months. Although his collaboration with Lil Wayne on “Don’t Cry” is the highest charting track that his estate has released, the collaborative effort with Lil Pump, Swae Lee, and Maluma, “Arms Around You” has been receiving praise since it’s release yesterday. However, it appears as if the song was originally a collaboration with X’s friend whose verse may have been excluded in order to include the high-profile features. As Rap Genius pointed out, Rio Santana, a friend, and collaborator of XXXTENTACION, began teasing the joint effort with the late rapper in 2017, but apparently, his verse was left off in favor of Lil Pump, Swae Lee and Maluma’s contributions. Earlier this month, Santana shared a text message conversation he had with X in 2017, praising the “SAD!” artist for exhibiting diversity on the song. He also shared footage of the studio session he had with X as they listened to the song.

After the song’s release, Santana was seemingly disappointed in his omission. He alluded to his feelings about the song in two cryptic tweets.

Let’s stand for what’s right ✌🏽🖤

Santana previously worked with XXXTENTACION for the ? track, “i don’t even speak spanish lol” alongside Carlos Andrez and Judah.

Lil Pump teased the single a few months after X’s death. Numerous publications reported that Rio Santana owned the track and would be featured on it, but that was not the case.

Ciara Slays Her “Ellen Show” Appearance Performing “Dose” & “Level Up”

Ciara does the damn thing for the “Ellen” audience.

Both of Ciara‘s recent singles have been dance-heavy tracks that have sparked Instagram dance challenges everywhere. “Level Up” and “Dose” are coming off an upcoming tape by the singer that will be her first project since 2015’s Jackie. Showing more love to her music, the 35-year-old paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres show to perform her tracks, slaying a mashup of the two with a fire backup dance crew.”Yeah, I’m super, super excited about my album. I’ve been having so much fun working on it. I actually started recording a little bit of it before I gave birth to Sienna so that was really fun; dancing around with my big belly in the studio,” Ciara said of her upcoming tape. “But I’ve been working on it for a little while, and it’s really coming together, and I can’t wait to share it with my fans.”She added: “There is some cool stuff going on. Kris Jenner Wishes Kanye West Would Say Some Things “Privately”

Kris Jenner is all about the brand and Kanye’s controversial comments could have a negative impact on that.

Kanye West has always been a polarizing figure, but his recent alignment with Donald Trump and right-wing pundits have stirred up far more controversy than anything else in his career. Despite the contentious statements, the Kardashian clan have stuck by his side. However, Kris Jenner wishes that Kanye would just keep things to himself.Ellen Degeneres recently had the Kardashian “momager” on her show. Kris Jenner opened up about Kanye West’s recent behavior in the public including his unpredictable visit to the White House.“And the stuff that they were talking about, when they got to the airplane, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so Kanye,’” she said. “He was sharing thoughts and things on himself. But I would rather he share some of that stuff privately. Obviously, that would be great. But I have to be able to show him that I’m here he needs me.”She added, “You can’t control what somebody else is doing. I can’t always control what any of them do at any time. But I think what I really want to do is be there to help him be the best version of himself that he can be.”Despite Kanye’s behavior, she said that Kanye West is a great father, husband, friend, son and brother-in-law.

Vic Mensa has high hopes for his signature Chukka boot.

Vic Mensa is entering the media scrum at the just the right time for his signature sneaker to drop. A Michigan-based boot company called Wolverine is banking on his star potential. They are in the midst of designing his very own 1000 Mile Sneaker, leather-clad Chukka boot currently priced at $285.The Vic Mensa version of the mid-ankle boot will feature a signature silhouette unlike the rest of the line. The Mensa version will be outfitted with a Vibram sole for added traction and a special leather born out of Chicago, the rapper’s hometown. The Chukka boot and Vic Mensa are a natural fit. He isn’t just a musician. He’s clearly into the fashion space, and after meeting him this morning he’s clearly into the boot,” says Wolverine’s VP of Marketing, Andrew Shripka. “We love the philanthropy, too. We’re just excited to see where he can take some of his ideas.”Vic Mensa for his part seems excited to keep things local, on a level of politics and shared cultural values. There’s a hope Vic will intern at Wolverine on a bright shiny day.

Migos Are Selling Replicas Of Their Tour Outfits As Halloween Costumes

Quavo wasn’t lying when he said he was selling Migos costumes for Halloween.

Migos are trend-setters in this rap game, both with their fashion choices and their musical abilities. Ahead of the release of his debut solo album, Quavo revealed that he was going to be selling Migos costumes for Halloween. While it seemed funny at first, Quavo clearly saw that it was an easy cash grab and the Migos are now selling costumes of their tour outfits for Halloween. For $125, you could mimic the tour drip of Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset. The trio is selling costumes on their website that replicate the jumpsuits they’ve been wearing on the “Aubrey And The Three Migos” tour with Drake. The jumpsuit is currently only being sold in red and is made up of cotton that’s been printed with reflective ink. It also includes the Migos logo on the chest area. You’d pretty much be looking like Quavo in the picture below.

Over the past week, there have been rumblings about Takeoff’s forthcoming solo project. He’s been the quietest out of the trio, but arguably the most skilled. This morning, he released the first single off of The Last Rocket titled, “Last Memory.” The album is set to drop next Friday, Nov. 2nd, although they haven’t revealed any of the possible features or number of the songs on the project.

Aside from that, Migos recently teased the release of the third installment in their Culture series which is said to drop in early 2019. Keep your eyes peeled for that.

Where Is Joey Bada$$? Tracking His Movements Since “All-Amerikkkan Badass”

What has Joey Bada$$ been up to since he dropped his “All-Amerikkkan Badass” album?

As the poster child of the Brooklyn hip-hop collective Pro EraJoey Bada$$ has more than made a name for himself by merging a compulsion for perfection with his undeniable talent behind the mic. Hailing from the same Bed-Stuy streets that gave birth to industry legends like Biggie and Hov, Bada$$’ penchant for choosing to spit over gritty boom-bap beats instead of slick, autotuned hooks led to his debut mixtape 1999 making serious waves far beyond his hometown.Delivering mostly self-reflective bars on his debut studio length album B4.DA.$$, Joey Bada$$ finalized his evolution from a up-and-coming teenager spitting rhymes in his bedroom to a certified rising star. An enigmatic blend of brand-new delivery alongside a rock solid homage to hip-hop’s early roots, Bada$$ quickly became New York’s best competition against a slew of “Beast Coast” hitmakers.True to the precociousness that set him apart from his Pro Era collaborators, Bada$$ set his sights on the political injustices plaguing both his community and the nation at large for his sophomore studio effort, All-Amerikkkan Badass. “I think my lyrical prime was probably when I was 17 or 18, but at that time, I didn’t really care if you couldn’t decipher what I was saying; I thought it was cool that it would take you years to figure it out,” said Bada$$ of his recent desire to choose mainstream delivery over clever lyricism. “But now I want you to get me. I want you to feel where I’m coming from.””It’s more about the potency of the line than about it having the most insane wordplay,” he continued. “Now I understand who my listeners are, and I want to show them things that I’ve learned. I want to report to them. My last album was influenced by experiences I’ve had, but it’s not just about me. It’s about us. My life is set. Now I want to help other people with their lives, or help them understand what’s right or wrong, or what’s just human.”Wondering what Bada$$ is up to over a year after he dropped his last studio project? While Bada$$ has laid low on the solo music front following the April 7, 2017 release of his second studio album, the Brooklyn-bred artist teamed up with Big Lenbo to support rapper Logic on the “Everybody’s Tour.” Aside from cancelling a trio of shows due to his ill-advised decision to look directly at a solar eclipse, Bada$$’ high energy set and politically poignant lyrics proved once and for all that he is far more than just a supporting act.

“Y’all have no idea how blessed, how humbled, how grateful, how thankful, how happy, how appreciative… there’s not even enough words to describe how I feel right now man,” said Bada$$ during his set at New York’s Barclays Center. “I feel like I’m at the Grammy’s right now. I’d like to thank my mom, I’d like to thank my dad, I’d like to thank my whole family, my friends, my Pro Era squad. This is a real surreal moment.”

“Nothing feels as great as coming into an arena and seeing all the lights up and seeing all the faces in the motherf–king crowd man,” he continued. “There’s really no feeling that compares to that.”

In addition to lighting up the stage alongside Logic, Bada$$ lent a helping hand to Post Malone‘s breakout hit, “Rockstar” with a feature on the original track (alongside T-Pain) as well as securing a ghostwriting credit.

“This is facts…I actually co-wrote the song w post 🙂 quietly got my first #1 off that more ghostwriting in 2018,” confirmed Bada$$ in a now-deleted tweet.

Mr. Robot

In August of 2015, Bada$$ made his television debut on Sam Esmail’s award-winning dystopian hacktivist thriller series Mr. Robot. A nod to his long held dream of becoming an actor, Bada$$’ on-screen presence is captivating, as his bubbly pop-culture savvy character, Leon, often operates as a direct foil to the Brooklyn native’s stage presence.

“By the time I was 14, 15, I was really committed to becoming an actor. It was just that when I got to Edward R. Murrow, I met all the guys from my [Pro Era] crew, and we were all so interested in music. So I realized in high school that music is my calling,” said the “Devastated” rapper of his creative interests. “I decided that, if music works out, acting will be relatively more easy. I could just use music as a leverage to get into acting. But they’re both things that I’m really passionate about. Of course, music being my number one, but I’ve always been passionate about acting.”

Now approaching the premiere of the fourth season of the drama, Bada$$’ Leon is still a fan-favorite recurring character.

Taking Aim At The Current State of Rap

In early 2018, Bada$$ refused to mince words while unloading his controversial opinions about the current state of rap and hip-hop as a whole. A fervent protector of the OG veterans and 90s-era beats, it’s no surprise that Bada$$ looks down on the new generation of Soundcloud rappers boasting repetitive bars and obnoxious face tattoos. “Rap is in a very trash state rn with very few exceptions that don’t even get the love and attention that they deserve,” wrote Bada$$ in a series of now-deleted tweets. “Like where’s y’all n—as souls at??? Music is the most influential force in the world. Pay attention to what’s being over saturated. It says something about the generation. Sound is vibration.”

Amerikkkana Tour

From April-May of 2018, Bada$$ went on the road in North America to promote the rolling success of his sophomore album, All-Amerikkkan Badass, supported by West Coast rappers Boogie and Buddy. With a disarming blend of pyrotechnics and lighting displays alongside a high-energy set, it’s no surprise that Bada$$’ sold-out run was met with a flurry of rave reviews.

Becoming A Father

Soon after dropping the news that his debut mixtape 1999 would be available on streaming platforms in honor of its six-year anniversary, Bada$$ revealed during an appearance on Complex’s Open Late that he recently became a father.

“It’s amazing, bro. It’s a life-changer to see this little human you co-created with someone. She’s like my little twin. It’s honestly the most heartwarming thing that’s ever happened to me. I love it,” said the rapper. “Her name is Indigo Rain. She got some hippy parents.”

Chief Keef Doesn’t Understand Kanye West’s Connection To Donald Trump

Chief Keef, much like the rest of, doesn’t understand Kanye and Trump’s bromance.

Kanye West‘s love for Donald Trump has confused many people, including most Democrats and a large percentage of his fanbase. Despite the public’s disdain for the president, Kanye’s been vocal about how much he appreciates Trump. However, Chief Keef is among the many people who are utterly confused about the relationship between the ‘Ye and the 45th president of the U.S.A.In a recent interview with The Daily Mirror, Chief Keef revealed that he appreciates Kanye West as a musician and showing him love in the past, but he can’t seem to find how or why ‘Ye and Donald Trump are friends.”He has said nice things about me in recent interviews, the man is a true legend,” he said before revealing his thoughts on Kanye West’s political stance. “I am not a fan of Trump, I don’t understand that connection, but Kanye does what he wants.”Keef’s statement about ‘Ye doing what he pleases isn’t shocking. In fact, it seems like a common sentiment among most people who’ve interacted with Kanye over the years. Despite this, Chief Keef is hoping that he’ll be able to get together with Kanye West again soon.”We’ve not spoken recently but maybe we soon will. I’d like to work with him,” he said.

Kanye West is currently working on his project, Yandhi which is due out later next month. He’s already revealed that XXXTENTACION and Tekashi 6ix9ine are set to feature on the project, as well as Nicki MinajTy Dolla $ignKid Cudi, and Young Thug, who threatened to never speak to Kanye again if he didn’t make the album

Swizz Beatz Replies To “Special Delivery” Producer Claim That He Jacked Beat

Ez Elpee gets some love after accusing Swizz Beatz of lifting his beat for “Uproar.”

One of the many highlights on Lil Wayne‘s new album, Tha Carter V is the Swizz Beatz produced single, “Uproar.” The song sparked a viral challenge that has taken over the internet, but unfortunately, not many people realize that Swizz Beatz directly reworked producer Ez Elpee’s beat for “Special Delivery” by G. Dep. Elpee accused Swizz of downplaying the fact that the “Uproar” beat was based on his production on “Special Delivery.” After Elpee’s comments, Swizz took to social media to respond to the claims.Swizz Beatz heard Elpee’s word loud and clear. The “Uproar” producer took to social media to finally give Elpee credit for his work on the track.”Super shout out to Ez Elpee,” he said in a post on Instagram and Twitter. “The original producer of ‘Special Delivery.'”

Swizz didn’t elaborate any further, but it’s good to see him show Elpee the credit he rightfully deserves. In Elpee’s interview with HipHopDX, he said that he was initially upset over the fact that he was omitted from the credits.

“I went into the comments or whatever, and [Swizz] is trying to downplay it,” he said. “It’s just like if I took ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem‘ and did it over and didn’t give him a credit for it.”

Swizz Beatz is currently gearing up to release his forthcoming project, Poisonwhich includes the Lil Wayne-assisted single, “Pistol On My Side.”

6ix9ine Sentenced To 4 Years Of Probation In Child Sex Case: Report

Tekashi69 will not be serving any time in prison.

It’s official. Tekashi 6ix9ine will not be spending any time in prison for his involvement in the controversial case that has followed him around for years. Earlier today, it was reported that members of his team had started to say their goodbyes to him as they expected a long sentence to be handed down to the colorful rapper. It turns out that the bible verse he posted earlier today gave him a ton of luck because TMZ is saying that he won’t be headed to prison. The judge instead opted to extend Tekashi’s probation for four more years.Back in October 2015, 6ix9ine pled guilty to using a minor in a sex act, which is something that has left a bad taste in many people’s mouths since his rise to fame. His sentencing took place today and 6ix9ine will be sure to let everybody know that he’s officially 1/1 in court when it comes to getting off with a slap on the hand. Instead of jail time, the judge in his case has sentenced Tekashi to four years of probation. He has already been serving one year so technically, he’ll only need to be careful for the next three years as any violation is subject to a resentencing. He has also been ordered to perform 1,000 hours of community service and avoid all gang activity. That means 6ix9ine is no longer allowed to rep Blood in his videos. This is great news for 6ix9ine and his fans as things weren’t looking too good for a minute.

Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih

Familiarize yourself with the minds behind “Mih-Ty.”
What a time to be an “RnB Thug.” Today marks the musical union of Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign, two of the game’s most acclaimed singers. Together, they connected to make up Mih-Tyan eleven track project with appearances from Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and French Montana. So far, early fan response is promising, with many praising the pair’s effortless chemistry.I surely cannot be alone in missing the days when liner notes made up part of the album listening experience. Travis Scott On “Astroworld” Tour: “Finally Able To Do The Production I Want”

Travis Scott is excited to get started on his upcoming tour.

One of the tours we’ve been most excited for this year has been Travis Scott‘s Astroworld: Wish You Were Here experience. Nobody really knows what to expect from the show but considering the astonishing year La Flame has had, we’re anticipating a lot. Travis will likely deliver too as he’s proven in the past to be a polished and creative performer. Astroworld brought the artist to new heights and with the upcoming arena tour, he will be able to express his vision in a concrete fashion. With the stage design being teased on Instagram a few days ago, Travis Scott provided a few details to Complex about what the fans can expect on tour. There will definitely be a lot of raging going on during each show, which is something that Travis is excited for. He said, “I’m finally able to have the room to do the production I want, because it’s my first arena tour. I’m finally able to fit all the ideas in my brain into one room. There’s going to be intensity from the kids in the building, and enough space for the fans to just rage.” If you’ve been to a Trav show in the past, you know just how elaborate they can get. It sounds like Astroworld will be even more precise in the details. He compared his stage design to the one he used on Saturday Night Live, revealing, “The tour is more magnified. It’s way more realistic. It’s more tangible. Man, it’s just my ideas on top of ideas, you know? I’m just trying to create free will.”We’re excited for the tour to kick off and it sounds like Travis is too. Tory Lanez Explains Why XXXTentacion Collab Didn’t Make “Love Me Now?”

XXXTentacion and Tory Lanez’ song will remain in the vault, for now.

Lately, it feels as if rappers are actually collaborating with XXXTentacion more, now that he’s passed away. Today, X has already appeared on a new single featuring Lil Pump, Swae Lee, Skrillex, and Maluma. Last month, he was on a Lil Wayne song; he’ll soon be popping up on Kanye West‘s Yandhi. Tory Lanez is likely to join the ranks of collaborators, having previously confirmed that a Triple X collaboration had been recorded for his album. Though initially set to appear on Love Me Now?, it would appear that sample clearance proved an insurmountable obstacle for Fargo and his team.”When I tweeted it, I was very excited about the record,” says Tory, on Big Boy’s Neighbourhood. “The record’s a very dope record. But the clearance and the business side didn’t let me clear it in time. Hopefully we get to get it out soon so everybody can hear it. It just didn’t make the deadline for [Love Me Now?]” After, Big Boy asks if Tory ever feels like his talent goes unappreciated. “Yeah,” he admits. “I do feel like that. All the time.” Though we’re still waiting for both the interview and album to drop in full, the hour is nearly upon us. It’s unfortunate that business happened to get in the way of Tory and X’s collaboration, though we’ll choose to remain optimistic that it will one day surface.

Tyler, The Creator Thanks Elon Musk For “Excessive Airbags” After Terrifying Car Crash

Tyler, The Creator issues a statement after crashing his Tesla earlier today.

Tyler, The Creator got himself into a pretty terrifying car accident earlier today in Los Angeles. The rapper completely totaled his Tesla Model X after crashing into a parked car. Thankfully, he made it out without any harm and it looks like Elon Musk deserves the credit for it.Tyler, The Creator issued a statement earlier today following his car crash in Los Angeles. The rapper shared a selfie on his Instagram Story explaining what exactly happened. He revealed that he was exhausted when he was driving his car and ended up falling asleep at the wheel which ultimately caused him to crash his vehicle.”My big doopy ass usually go to sleep at 10:30 (I wake up at 7 er morn) and guess who wanted to finish music super late and dosed off for a few seconds while driving home,” he wrote. “Im a dumb ass bitch but lil mama dont have a scratch im lucky. I calmly jumped out the back and called the people. Thanks Elon for the excessive airbags u a qt.”After sharing the post, he posted a picture of his bicycle wheel with a burger on it and wrote, “back to these chords and strings and me private lyfe yus yus holla.” He also reminded fans that the Golf x Suicoke collaboration is dropping this weekend.

Lil Wayne Songs From “Velvet” Sessions Leak Online

Ten of Lil Wayne’s old songs have surfaced online.

At the beginning of 2017, Mack Maine announced a new album from Lil Wayne titled Velvet. That was a pre-C5 era when Young Money was trying to get the album out for the world to hear. Velvet was announced in passing as Mack Maine said, “Wayne also has a dope project called Velvet. We want to get that out.” The album has never seen the light of day and while it may materialize in the future, Weezy looks to have moved on to bigger things. Carter V is finally out and as he moves into his next chapter, Velvet may need to take a backseat. Especially considering ten tracks that are reportedly from those recording sessions have leaked online.According to Complex, some of Wayne’s older music surfaced online from the Velvet Sessions, which include a feature from his daughter Reginae Carter. The publication points out that the majority of the tracks originate from the correct era while a few others were never intended for Velvet. Many of the links have been taken down and, for obvious reasons, we can’t post them here. They are out there though… you’ll just have to work to find them.Lil Wayne has been subject to leaks for much of his career. He was recently confirmed as a guest on Mike WiLL Made-It’s Creed II soundtrack, which will also include appearances by YGRick RossKodak Black, and a bunch of others.

Saweetie & Quavo Post Up Courtside At Atlanta Hawks Game

 Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

Saweetie & Quavo forever.

When Saweetie and Quavo were first reported to be dating, it was exciting news for fans of both artists. “We worked together and ever since then we been getting to know each other and I enjoy his company,” the “Icy Girl” rapper said of their hangouts. Now that the reports have been proven to be true, both rappers got nothing to hide and have since been posted up at award shows together and more recently the Atlanta Hawks game. The photo below shows the couple fronting nothing but smiles as Quavo shows off his bling. Neither Quavo or Saweetie have yet to post a boo’d up photo together on their feeds, but we think it’s safe to say they will in due time.”I really just don’t have time to argue with people,” Saweetie said of dealing with haters. “And everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. It’s a choice to put negativity on my page, and I already have to deal with that in real life. If I can block you online, I’m gonna block you.”

Cardi B Claps Back At A Hater Over “Money” Criticism, Attacks Her Looks

Cardi B is not here for the “Money” criticism.

Cardi B‘s new single leaked online earlier this week before the artist decided to take matters into her own hands, officially releasing “Money” on all platforms a few days ago. The song has been getting a lot of criticism from fans and detractors alike with most people wishing Cardi would explore her craft a little more, switching up her flows or beat selection. While she receives an insane amount of fan messages every day, Bardi decided to take some time to respond to a hater, insulting her for sharing her opinion on the new song.Somebody tweeted the superstar that they weren’t a fan of her new single, writing, “Listen Cardi baby, Money is not the one.” The artist wasn’t tagged in the post so she must have caught wind of it elsewhere before choosing to clap back. She attacked the fan’s looks, saying, “Okay mega Mind.” Cardi was referring to the user’s avatar, making fun of the size of her forehead.People are unsure how to react to the new song as HNHH users weren’t feeling it, rating her 32% for the effort. During her appearance on Ebro’s Beats 1 radio show yesterday, Cardi said that she will be releasing a few bonus tracks from Invasion Of Privacy soon. Maybe those will be more accepted by the public.

Chris Brown Shows Off His New Multicolor “Cotton Candy” Chain

Chris Brown’s diamonds are dancing like Chris Brown.

If you’ve followed Chris Brown over his career, you know that he likes to start trends and take risks with his fashion at times. We’ve seen him experiment with every hair color there is. His most recent decision to go purple was praised by fans but he’s also getting colorful in other parts of his look. At this point, we’re used to gold chains. Everybody has them and while a nice chain will always be eye-popping, you’ve gotta get creative with your custom order. Breezy decided to integrate colors into his diamonds, icing out a new choker chain with “cotton candy” tones, showing off the new piece on Instagram. He went to Eliantte for the neckwear, flexing the mixture of gold, silver, pink and blue diamonds. Chris isn’t the only one to cop a colorful chain in the last few weeks as it seems to be making a comeback. You may recall Tekashi 6ix9inebuying a “My Little Pony” necklace with real rainbow hair on it.Chris Brown will be making a major impact on tomorrow’s releases, featuring twice on Tory Lanez‘ project and appearing on Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign‘s “Surrounded” from MihTy. It was also announced yesterday that he has a collaborative mixtape on the way with Tory. Check out the chain below and chime in.

Takeoff Solo Song Previewed From “The Last Rocket”

Takeoff sounds as polished as ever in this latest snippet.

Before the end of the year, we’re expected to receive solo albums from each member of the Migos. We’ve already gotten Quavo‘s Quavo Huncho and soon, we’ll be hearing the first-ever solo album from TakeoffThe Last Rocket is arguably the most highly-anticipated from the bunch since we haven’t heard much from Take outside of the group. The project is expected to be high quality and hopefully, Takeoff can live up to the hype. As the most lyrical of the bunch, a full Takeoff album will be a lot different than one by Offset or Quavo. Or at least we’re expecting it to be. A new snippet from a listening session made its way onto Instagram and so far, we really like what we hear. The release date and title for Takeoff’s solo album were revealed a few days ago but there’s still so much secrecy surrounding the project. This is one of the first snippets that we get to hear from The Last Rocket and hopefully, it’s representative of a sound that will be consistent on the album because this is seriously dope. Takeoff has a gift with flows. And don’t get me started on that beat drop. This sounds like it could be a legitimate banger. The album is expected to arrive on November 2. There isn’t much known about Offset’s upcoming album but it should be here before Culture III drops in early 2019.

Juice WRLD Snaps For 15 Minutes In New Freestyle Over French Rap Beats

Juice WRLD continues to prove that he could rap for long periods of time.

Juice WRLD dominated this year completely with his single, “Lucid Dreams” which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although many began to get introduced to the rapper this year, he’s showing signs that he could be the next major star to emerge out of Chicago. Since breaking out, he’s impressed hip-hop heads with his lengthy freestyles. It feels like there are fewer rappers out now who are comfortable with going completely off dome, but young Juice WRLD proved once again that he’s still nice with it on the mic.Juice WRLD is more known for his melodic delivery, but when he’s put on the spot, he’s proven that he has bars for days. The rapper was at a French radio show recently when he was asked to spit a few bars off of the dome. The rapper went off for fifteen minutes straight over random French hip-hop beats and completely demolished it.”My flow is extravagant/ Really, it is extravagant/ Really, I am gargantuan/ Really, I am the champion/ N***as faker than mannequins/ Walk in the sky like Anakin,” he raps. “Gucci, all over my flannels/ I’m wearin’ ‘Preme five panels/ With n***as that I was skatin’ with/ Really, my chopper take your ass out like a double date n’ shit.”Aside from his freestyle, Juice WRLD recently linked up with Future for their joint project, WRLD On Drugs.[Via]

The Game won’t have to fear U.S. Marshals arresting him anymore.

The Game‘s been dealing with some serious legal issues in recent times. The Compton-bred emcee was ordered to hand over financial documents to his sexual assault accuser after he refused to pay her $7M judgment. The judge later gave the rapper 48 hours to turn over the papers before a warrant was issued for his arrest. Despite reports claiming that he would be arrested by U.S. Marshals are his show in Oregan earlier this month, the rapper is now free to roam the country without a fret.According to TMZ, the warrant issued for The Game’s arrest has been dropped. The judge pulled the arrest warrant after The Game’s legal team finally handed over the financial documents that were asked for more than three weeks ago.The rapper tried his hardest to have the warrant dismissed earlier this month, although the alleged victim, Priscilla Rainey, was pressing the judge to have The Game thrown behind bars. Clearly, that didn’t work out for her. She previously asked the court to punish the rapper after he completely ignored a subpoena that was issued for his cannabis company “Trees By Game LLC” in order to get a better understanding of his financial information and why he hasn’t coughed up the $7.1M judgment that he was ordered to pay. We’ll keep you updated on The Game’s legal battle with Rainey.

Playboi Carti & Others Offering Free Concert Tickets If You Voted

This is much more enticing than what a few other artists have done.

Every time an election rolls around, there’s always an abundance of young people who choose not to make their way to the voting stations. Whether that’s because the candidates don’t represent their views or another reason, there’s definitely a problem with youth voting. People are making a real effort to change the trend as artists like Taylor Swift reportedly caused a massive swing in voter registration by encouraging people to let their voices be heard and express their democratic rights. While it’s nice to be reminded of how to register, another incentive to get people to vote is to give away free stuff, which is something that the organizers of iVoted know all too well.In an effort to increase the number of people heading to polling stations, iVoted is offering voters a chance to win free tickets to concerts in your town. For the most part, the shows don’t seem too interesting unless you’re a fan of Good Charlotte and Drive-By Truckers. However, acts like Playboi Carti and Toro y Moi are also participating, giving voters a chance to see them live for free. All the details are available on the iVoted website but here’s a quick rundown. Depending on the venue and city, you’ll need to provide proof that you voted, usually with a photo outside of your polling station. This will probably work a little better than simple encouragement.

Lil Yachty Says Drake Laughed About Juice WRLD’s Jab On “Yacht Club” Verse

Lil Yachty reveals that he told Drake about the line before “Nuthin’ 2 Prove” dropped.

Lil Yachty is fresh off the release of his second project of the year, Nuthin 2 Prove. The rapper’s latest project served as an official follow-up to Lil Boat 2 which he released earlier this year. The rapper collaborated with Juice WRLD on the song, “Yacht Club” where the Chicago rapper took a slight jab at Drake‘s baby mama drama. While many may have thought that Drake took issue with the line, especially since it had something to do with his seed, the Canadian rapper seemed to find it amusing as the rest of us.On Lil Yachty’s “Yacht Club,” he and Juice WRLD swap bars back and forth. At one point, Yachty raps, “I’m a young king, I might fuck Alexis Texas” and Juice responds, “But I ain’t on no Drake shit, I won’t get her pregnant.” Yachty told Billboard about his initial reaction to the line before revealing that he told Drake about the bar ahead of time.”At the time, we were in the booth together actually. He said it and I was like, ‘Wow, okay,'” he said. “I talked to Drake about it and he said it was all good. He felt there was really no harm. I told Drake before, because I fuck with Drake. Then it came out and he laughed at it. “Yachty also revealed that his joint project with Juice WRLD might come out in December. However, there’s a chance that he might drop his joint project with Trippie Redd instead.”I’m going to drop a collab tape in December. I got one done with Juice WRLD, and me and Trippie Redd got one. Both tapes are done,” he revealed.Keep your eyes peeled for new music from Lil Yachty.

Ashanti Blasts 50 Cent After He Trolls Her For Selling 24 Concert Tickets

Ashanti thinks 50 is a bully.

50 Cent has become the most legendary troll online. In his spare time between making music, producing Power and other shows, and being a mogul in all regards, he enjoys stirring up some controversy. Fiddy’s penchant for taking jabs at people dates back to the beginning of his career, where songs like “How to Rob” rubbed half of the hip-hop game the wrong way. After Ashanti only sold 24 tickets for a poorly promoted last minute concert, 50 Cent did what he does best. The G-Unit frontman trolled the Murder Inc. singer, writing, “Do Basement parties then it can still feel like it’s lit” on a post about the cancelation. Fif’ deleted the post, but a clap back might be in the works after Ashanti took shots at the rapper for his remarks.TMZ caught up with Ashanti on Thursday at LAX, and asked her how she felt about Fif’ taking shots at her. “Officer Curtis better cut it out,” she responded, clearly referencing the alleged snitching past of the rapper. After Ashanti reiterates that bad promotion and an apology from the school should explain the situation, the reporter asks if she thinks 50 is a bully. “Curtis is definitely a bully,” she concluded.

Tory Lanez Drops Off “Love Me Now?” Featuring Meek Mill, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, & More

Lanez is on fire.

Tory Lanez keeps the fire coming with his second project of 2018. Love Me Now? marks the Canadian artist’s third studio effort. Lanez’s last album Memories Don’t Die was packed full of features, and he opted to keep the guest appearances coming on Love Me Now? The plethora of features makes the project feel more like a mixtape than an album, which grounds it in a street vibe that allows creativity to flourish uncontested. The 15-track effort features appearances from Meek Mill2 ChainzChris Brown, Trippie Redd, Bryson Tiller, Rich The Kid, A Boogie Wit Da HoodieLil BabyGunna, and more.Lanez last project, Memories Don’t Die, was heavily praised by fans, and the replay value could have kept the world satiated for a bit longer. Still, Love Me Now?arrives with the same strength as previous projects, and doesn’t suffer from the typical creative decline that comes when artists attempt to pack multiple projects into a year. Lanez’s second project of the year was bolstered by the singles “Duck My Ex” featuring Chris Brown and 2 Chainz, “Miami” featuring Gunna, and “Drip Drip Drip” featuring Meek Mill. The entire project is available for stream on SpotifyApple Music, and Tidal.

Ty Dolla $ign & Jeremih’s Joint Album “Mih-Ty” Finally Arrives

“Mih-Ty” arrives, as promised.

Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih were slated to drop off their joint album Mih-Ty back in February during the 2018 NBA All Star-Weekend. After several delays, the project has finally touched down. Hitmaka, the producer who constructed the project, was the one that teased the album for a February release. When the project failed to show up, Ty Dolla $ign affirmed that Mih-Ty would drop at the top of the Summer. While speaking with Zane Lowe, Ty claimed, “Next month I’m dropping a whole another project with me and my brother Jeremih… It’s nothing but smashes. We did it with my bro Hitmaka. He produced the whole shit, so it’s like a consistent album of bangers. I promise you, we probably did like tops… eight sessions, maybe less than that. And we got like 60 songs, and we had to choose like 13-14. So there’s leftovers from that project that we could probably give away to some of the homies.”The Summer came and went without a sight of Mih-Ty. Fans began to worry that the crooners would never release the album. Ty and Jeremih are men of their word though, as the 11-track project hit streaming platforms on Friday (October 26). While Mih-Ty doesn’t reach the 13-14 song affirmation from Ty, the album is more than enough for those who didn’t know if the music would see the light of day. Featuring appearances from Wiz KhalifaChris Brown, and French MontanaMih-Ty is available now on Tidal and Apple Music.

T.I. Sued By Ex-Employees For Fraud After $660K In Bank Transfers Are Found: Report

T.I.’s former restaurant employees have hit the rapper with an amended federal lawsuit over the alleged fraud.

T.I.‘s restaurant, Scales 925 in Georgia, wasn’t as much of a success as he and his partners thought it would be. After opening up in 2015, they closed the doors to the restaurant in 2016 before filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this year. Now, his former employees at the restaurant have filed a lawsuit against the rapper and his business partner for fraud. The Blast reports that T.I. and his Scales 925 business partner have been hit with an amended federal lawsuit from their former employees for unpaid wages and overtime. The employees previously sued T.I. and his partners for using the money from the restaurant for their own personal gain. They also claimed that the owners paid themselves incredibly high salaries while the business itself was spiraling. The ex-employees now accuse T.I. and his partner, Charles Hughes, of hiding hundreds of thousands of dollars for themselves when the business began declining. They claim they discovered new information that alleges both T.I. and Hughes made bank transfers totaling $663K from Scales 925 to themselves. Now, they want Tip and Hughes to cough up that money. In February, T.I. was ordered to pay up $78K after he and his partners reached a settlement with a group of ex-employees from the restaurant. The employees’ original lawsuit was over the owners screwing them out of overtime pay. However, the employees accused the rapper of defrauding them by allegedly transferring $40K to himself and his partners instead of paying out the settlement.

Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner & Baby Stormi Have Family Outing At Pumpkin Patch

Stormi’s first pumpkin patch visit is too cute.

Halloween and American Thanksgiving are coming up which means pumpkins are being scouted for dining room tables everywhere. Among the many pumpkin patch photos that are probably taking over Instagram are Kylie Jenner’s uploads that sees her and Travis Scott and their baby Stormi hitting up a nearby patch. The happy family hit up the Underwood Family Farms Monday in the San Fernando Valley, just a few weeks shy of when Travis is set to hit the road for his Astrowrold Tour. It’s cute to watch. When dad’s around, I’m not even there. It’s like she doesn’t even see me, but it’s cool. Whatever.”

Drake is showered with birthday love on his 32nd.

Drake‘s birthday celebration in his adopted home of Los Angeles was attended by the who’s who of the local scene. Party-goers were encouraged to pick from a “bread basket” filled with 7-Eleven snackfood in accordance with the early 2000s “blockbuster” theme “they” executed on all fronts. Those who weren’t present there when the clock struck “Birthday,” passed along their message of goodwill, the morning of.French Montana showed up to the party bearing gifts (the night of), sent Drake a compensatory greeting the (day of) in the form of this flashback to “No Shopping,” a record they planned “ad hoc” in a nightclub.

Cardi B Shares Throwback Photo As A 7-Year-Old With Crooked Teeth

It might not be Thursday but Cardi is throwing things back to when she was a kid.

The first time Cardi B shared photos of herself as a child, she was turned into one of the biggest memes of the summer. She decided to take that risk again just a few minutes ago when she posted a fresh photo of herself as a 7-year-old, reminding everybody of her glow-up over the last few years. When you think of where Cardi B was a few years ago, she was just an exotic dancer with some janky teeth and a hilarious personality. Now, she’s one of the biggest artists in the world, dropping off some of the most popular songs on the radio and on music platforms. Once she got a bag, Bardi fixed her teeth, beginning the evolution of her look as she debuted some super-straight pearly whites for the flashing lights. The superstar took some time today to go looking through her photo books, finding the perfect photo of her 7-year-old self to post on social media. She made sure to point out her mouth too.”My mouth been the same since forever,” wrote the recording artist. She then conveyed a message to her haters, of which there is a vast number, saying, “Stop the bullshit .Ya try and will do anything to put the YOUNG BULL down .It only fuel my fire to go harder.” The post has since been deleted but a fan reposted it below.Cardi B called out Nicki Minaj’s fans yesterday after her new single was leaked, blaming them for spreading around the unofficial release. Instead of dropping “Money” tomorrow as she had planned, Cardi was forced to share it yesterday and you can listen to the new track here.

Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz Put On Blast For “Uproar” Snub By “Special Delivery” Producer

Ez Elpee, who produced G. Dep’s 2001 single, “Special Delivery,” speaks on Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz single “Uproar.”

Lil Wayne delivered his album, Tha Carter V at the end of September. After its released, “Uproar” became an automatic fan favorite and sparked the viral #UproarChallenge that Lil Wayne, Swizz Beatz, Shiggy and many others participated in. The song’s beat reworks G. Dep’s hit single, “Special Delivery” which was released in 2001. Although Wikipedia and other publications acknowledged the sample used in “Uproar,” the producer of “Special Delivery,” Ez Elpee hasn’t received official credit on the album. Now, he’s speaking out against Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz for using his track without proper credit.“They stole my shit,” Elpee told HipHopDX about his original reaction to “Uproar.” Elpee heard the record for the first time on September 28th when Tha Carter Vwas released. “Seventeen years and now we’re having extra plays on the record … that was a hit record. It stood the test of time.”He explained that he isn’t salty about the fact they sampled his beat for “Uproar,” but he does find it a bit insincere that they haven’t given him the proper credit for it.”I went into the comments or whatever, and [Swizz] is trying to downplay it,” he said. “It’s just like if I took ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ and did it over and didn’t give him a credit for it … I know you need a record. I understand that. I know you’re trying to reinvent yourself. That’s dope. There’s nothing wrong with that. But like damn my nigga, like you trying to act like you never heard ‘Special Delivery?'”

MGK & Lana Del Rey Are Collaborating & People Think It’s An Eminem Diss Track

Lana Del Rey previewed a snippet of her rumored collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly.

If fan speculation is to be believed, Machine Gun Kelly is absolutely not giving up in his beef against Eminem. After dropping “Rap Devil,” Eminem attempted to end the Cleveland rapper’s career by attacking him in “Killshot.” A few days after the diss song was released, MGK’s most recent EP was released to very poor sales numbers. He continues to reference the feud on his socials and during his concerts, even selling a pair of light-up devil horns , but some fans believe he may soon be firing back with a new record.Lana Del Rey shared a snippet of a song on her Instagram account with Machine Gun Kelly rapping over a beat that sounds custom-made for her. She tagged the artist, teasing a collaboration between them in the near future. While the lyrics we hear don’t sound like they can relate to Eminem (this sounds like a love song…) some supporters of the two think there may be some disses thrown in here. You’ll recall Em has said that he would “punch Lana Del Rey right in the face” in the past and Complex notes that linking up with MGK could be leading to her response.Others are thinking that the two will be going at G-Eazy and considering both of their pasts with him, it’s possible. Still, I maintain that this sounds like the furthest thing from a diss record. The snippet makes this appear to be a track about relationships. Don’t get your hopes up for “Rap Devil Pt. 2…”

Erica Del Rey👑@erica_ivack

Lana Del Rey making music with MGK is 100% her sneaky way of getting back at Eminem for when he said he’d punch her in the face

A Ω@Planes_Crash

Excuse me are there Lana del Rey fans/ MGK fans stupid enough to actually believe their song is gonna be a diss track towards eminem? Jesus christ if I wrote “RUMOR donkeys can fly” on the internet you would actually believe it.

Cardi B Shuts Down Beyonce Collab Rumors & Says She’ll Tour In 2019

 Gustavo Caballero/Getty Images

The rumored collaboration between Beyoncé and Cardi B does not exist.

For the better part of this year, Cardi B has been on top of the world. The young artist has experienced an insane amount of success and she’s prepared to grow even further, leading her fans into a post-Invasion of Privacy era. We were expecting a new project from the Bronx rapper at the beginning of last month but that seems to have been delayed indefinitely, opting instead to drop a new single yesterday to hype people up. Promoting “Money,” Cardi stopped by Beats 1 to chat about the new track with Ebro.As you likely know at this point, Cardi was targeted when her song was leaked a few days early, prompting her to officially release it a bit prematurely. During her interview with Ebro, she touched on the rumored collaboration with Beyonce that has been floating around since last year. Unfortunately, she told the host that it does not exist, telling Darden that she would be happy to work with Bey in the future. To close out the talk, she was asked about the possibility of an upcoming tour. With her stating that she wants to have more kids, the prospect of an anticipated Cardi tour seemed out of the question for next year but the “I Like It” singer provided some good news, saying that her team is working on the details right now.The news about her “Wet” collab with Beyoncé is pretty unfortunate but at least her fans should be able to witness her live in the coming months. Stay tuned for news about the eventual tour.

Mike WiLL Made-It Previews “Creed II” Banger: “WHO YALL HEAR ON THIS TRACK”

Mike WiLL Made-It is looking to end the year on an incredible note.

While many producers have put forth stellar 2018 campaigns, Mike WiLL Made-It is looking at one for the ages. Fans might forget his stellar contributions to Trouble’s excellent Edgewood project, which found the EarDrummers leader doling out pinnacle, cold-hearted trap. The producer went on to follow that up with Rae Sremmurd‘s trifecta LP, and now, Mike WiLL is looking to end the year on a high note. He’s already been spending the autumn months cooking up the Creed II soundtrack, which he has dubbed a “skip-free” experience. If that wasn’t enough, Mike has also teased possible involvement from EminemYoung Thug, Rae Sremmurd, Nicki Minaj and more. Could Black Panther have competition as the soundtrack of the year? The more competition in that category, the better. After all, we’ve still got Bodied to look forward to. In any case, Creed 2 is next up, and Mike WiLL has recently shared a clip of an upcoming banger. Though he’s likely already decided on the lineup, he still invites fans to venture guesses as to who might be appearing.Shout out to the Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman who somehow managed to secure a place in the studio session. Who can you picture on this instrumental?

Gucci Mane Tries To Shut Down Baby Mama’s Child Support Lawsuit: Report

Gucci Mane is reportedly trying to keep his bucks away from his baby mama.

If there’s one thing that Gucci Mane does better than his contemporaries, it’s flexing. Unfortunately, it looks like his constant flexing has come back to haunt him in some sort of way. The rapper’s baby mother, Sheena Evans, is looking for a major increase in child support payment and Big GuWop is clearly not down for that.According to TheBlast, Gucci Mane has denied that he lives an unnecessarily lavish lifestyle in response to Evans request that he cough up more dough in child support payments. Evans previously sued Gucci Mane for a major increase in child support for their 11-year-old son, Keitheon. Although Gucci Mane is already paying her $2,076 in child support payments each month, she wants it increased to $20K. The request for an increase in child support payments was based on Gucci Mane’s career over the past few years. She said Gucci Mane wasn’t making as much money back then, but over the past few years, he’s been banking it from his career which includes his major comeback after prison and his BET wedding special. Additionally, Evans is also citing Gucci’s wedding to Keyshia Ka’Oir — which reportedly costed $1M — as an example of his lavish lifestyle.Gucci Mane has since responded to the suit and completely denied that his wedding actually costed $1M. He also said that his income hasn’t changed since 2011 and that he’s been paying for the child’s medical expenses and health insurance. He wants the entire case thrown out and doesn’t think that an increase in child support payments to Evans is necessary.

Chris Brown & Tory Lanez Attend Drake’s 2000’s Themed B-Day Party

Drake dressed as Fabolous at his 2000’s themed b-day party.

On Tuesday night, Drake threw himself a 2000’s themed birthday party at the Goya Studios in Los Angeles, equipped with a 7/11, Blockbuster Video and even cars from the classic MTV show Pimp My Ride. Many of his friends came to show love to the Toronto artist, including DiddyTory LanezChris BrownFrench Montana and more.

Guests were asked to arrive in their best 2000’s attire to give the party a true feeling of being blast to the past. Drake himself dressed up as Fabolous, while French Montana sported baggy jeans and an over-sized jersey. He even had a Motorola Timeport inspired cake.

Of course, staying with the theme, party goers danced to music from the 2000’s, especially when Drake himself became the mix master in the DJ booth at one point. He got some help at the booth from Swizz Beats and other musically inclined attendees.

On Wednesday, Drizzy shared some photos from his bday party. which includes a couple pics with former foes Chris Brown & Tory Lanez. Drake caption his Brown pic with “Best Duo or Group goes to…”

Nipsey Hussle Says He Wasn’t About To Jump In Lakers/Rockets Brawl

Despite what it looked like, Nipsey Hussle says he wasn’t about to jump in the Lakers-Rockets brawl.

Over the weekend, Nipsey Hussle nearly became a meme after cameras panned to his reaction of the fight between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul. Neighborhood Nip appeared to be getting ready to jump in the middle of the fight while he was sitting courtside. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The rapper claimed that he wasn’t ready to jump in the fight, but he was getting ready to defend himself if the brawl spilled over in his direction.

TMZ recently caught Nipsey Hussle to find out his real reaction to the brawl between Rajan Rondo and Chris Paul during Saturday’s game between the Lakers and the Rockets. The rapper revealed that he was most definitely not trying to jump into the brawl on the court, but he was prepared just in case the fight began inching towards him.

“Nah, definitely not. I was really just reacting to the little scuffle,” he said. “It looked like, you know, that might spill over to where we was sitting so I was just jumpin’ up, making sure it didn’t fall towards me. But I got love for a lot of the players from the Rockets as well as the Lakers.”

He added, “Harden’s my guy. CP, you know what I’m sayin’? A lot of the players I got love for. But nah, I would never jump in an NBA fight. Hell nah.”

Nip explained that there’s no way in hell that he’ll be instigating a fight live on television with a million people watching. Nip’s a smart guy so the decision to opt out of scrapping with a bunch of NBA players isn’t surprising.

Hip-Hop Sequels: The Gift & The Curse

Are hip-hop sequels a foregone conclusion?

It’s a topic oft debated in cinematic circles. Can the sequel ever surpass the original? General consensus errs toward no, though exceptions do exist. The Godfather II for example. Empire Strikes Back is another fan-favorite. The Dark Knight is all-but revered, where Batman Begins is simply celebrated. Yet it’s largely understood that sequels should be approached with narrowed eyes, with an integral question on the mind: is it fuelled by artistic motivation, or merely a haphazard attempt at capitalizing on a wave?In hip-hop, sequels aren’t entirely uncommon. In fact, they’ve been padding the canon for decades. Jay-Z’s Blueprint 2. Nas’ Stillmatic. Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP II. Dre’s 2001. Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter franchise. Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. Kid Cudi’s Man On The Moon 2. Logic’s Bobby Tarantino 2. Migos’ Culture II,  with talks of an eventual trilogy. It feels as if there are more rappers with sequels than those without. With that in mind, let’s consider the motivation behind revisiting an established body of work. I’d be willing to bet that the majority of sequel-spawning projects are considered “classics,” or at the very least, personal highlights in an artist’s career. Looking at the aforementioned examples, a simple genealogical trace reveals excellent albums across the board. Since it seems safe to assume that an artist would not choose to revisit anything they deem lackluster, it’s likely that the decision to craft a sequel stems from a desire for reinvigoration. A shot of adrenaline to a stagnating career, or simply a shoulder-tapping reminder: give me validation. Either way, the various efforts that have emerged throughout the years have me wondering whether a sequel has become somewhat of a foregone conclusion. But to what end?

They thought I’d make another Illmatic
But it’s always forward I’m movin’
Never backward stupid here’s another classic

– Nas, Stillmatic (Intro)

Consider a pair of bitter rivals-turned-homies, Jay-Z and Nas. Both delivered sequels at the turn of the century, with one notable difference between the two. Jay’s Blueprint II: The Gift & The Curse arrived one year after its predecessor, The Blueprint. On the other hand, Nas’ Stillmatic arrived nearly eight years and three studio albums after Illmatic. Right off the bat, a distinction can be made.

Given the relative brevity between chapters, it feels as if Jay simply wasn’t finished, though there admittedly remains a curious absence of thematic or musical connective tissue. While boasting several excellent songs, Blueprint 2’s tonal shift is far removed from the soulful vibe of Blueprint; the budget feels much bigger, borderline unwieldy. Were the Blueprint albums films, it feels like they might belong to different genres altogether. Suffice it to say, Jay was hardly looking to capitalize on a specific era. Rather, it seems as if he were more concerned with “worldbuilding,” widening the scope of his inner circle to include some of the era’s best and brightest producers.

Stillmatic arrived under entirely different circumstances. Though Illmatic, and to a lesser extent It Was Written are held in high regard, the back to back release of I Am… and Nastradamus marked a low point for the Queensbridge lyricist, particularly over the latter project; one might make a comparison to Eminem’s Revival, which found a once mighty lyricist become somewhat of a critical punching bag. It’s no wonder that Nas turned to the past, harkening back to his instant classic debut for inspiration. Unlike the Jigga Man’s sequel, the aptly titled Stillmatic feels like a spiritual successor to its predecessor, both musically and lyrically. An AZ reunion picked up where “Life’s A Bitch” left off, with production from Large Professor and DJ Premier bridging the gap. Though Nas found himself fielding scathing shots from Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” his counter riposte proved equally deadly; to this day, fans still debate whether “Ether” or “Takeover” is the superior diss record. In any case, Stillmatic was met with widespread acclaim, thus re-entering Nas into the pantheon of hip-hop royalty. Is it as good, if not better than Illmatic? Was that ever a possibility? Still, it honored the original’s legacy, playing out like a logical conclusion to the narrative; few one-two punches are as potent.

So, one last time, I’m back
Before it fades into black and it’s all over
Behold the final chapter in a saga
Tryin’ to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle
Twice, the magic that started it all

– Eminem, “Bad Guy”

Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…Pt II stands among those rare sequels held in high regard. Like Nas, Rae found himself facing an uphill climb. His debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, stands among the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Yet Rae never truly faced the same hurdles as Nas; though his subsequent drops failed to live up to his admittedly lofty bar, he never found himself catching the wrath of a public-scorned. What then prompted Rae to deliver Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…Pt II in 2009,  fourteen years after the original? It should be noted that Rae’s previous solo album, The Lex Diamond story, was released in 2003, marking a six-year gap between projects. It’s entirely possible that Rae was looking to recapture public interest by evoking a bonafide classic. He even made sure to tap his co-star Ghostface Killah for the occasion.

Like Stillmatic,  Cuban Linx II did justice to the original’s legacy. Perhaps lacking in part one’s deadly urgency, given Rae’s established position in the game, the legendary rapper managed to revisit thematic threads like one rides a bicycle. This time around, Rae opened the door to a variety of producers, including Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, Dilla, Necro, Alchemist, and Erick Sermon; naturally, RZA opted to play the man behind the curtain, sacrificing hands-on production for a more curatorial role. Nearing release, Rae spoke on RZA’s involvement, stating:  “he definitely put his two cent in and made his elements, and that’s what it’s about. But I can’t allow one man to lead my destiny no more.”

Eminem attempted a similar tactic when he announced The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013. Though Slim Shady LP and The Eminem Show are certainly touted highly among fans, the people have crowned Em’s sophomore album The Marshall Mathers LP to be his magnum opus. Arriving at the height of a new era, in which public sensitivity was at a (then) all-time-high, Em’s scathing lyricism and sheer technical prowess captivated the masses. Plus, you had Dr. Dre showcasing unparalleled adaptability, providing Em with a unique batch of Carnival-esque bangers. A truly unique album, and one that has stood the test of time. It’s no wonder that Eminem eventually decided to book a return flight, nearly thirteen years later.

Though Em’s spirit was likely inspired by his former work on MMLP, the connective tissue was inherently different. For one, the production team had changed entirely. Where the original featured work from Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mel Man, and The Bass Brothers, the sequel had enlisted Rick Rubin, Alex Da Kid, DJ Khalil, and more; the only uniting thread being Eminem’s own contributions. Tonally, the albums could not be more different. The original is a bad-trip walk down a nightmarish alleyway. The sequel is a drunken stumble from a dive bar. Gothic piano arrangements and minor-key progressions were replaced by rock samples, guitars, and synthesizers. Not inherently bad, though confusing to those expecting a spiritual successor. Of course, glimmers of lyrical associations are present throughout. “Bad Guy” is a direct sequel to “Stan,” and “Asshole” picks up where the blase cynicism of “Who Knew” left off. Yet like Blueprint II, Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 feels like it stems from a different series entirely. It seems as if Eminem’s intention was to reinvigorate himself by looking backward, without fully committing to the cause. For that reason, many fans were left feeling as if Em was simply attempting to capitalize on the project’s legacy, whether an accurate assessment or not.

To truly develop a hypothesis, I’d need to spend far longer researching the myriad sequels at my disposal. Perhaps the notion of reaching a concrete conclusion is a fool’s errand. It’s entirely likely that many different factors can motivate an artist, including several explored above. Reinvigoration, be it creative or commercial, appears to play a large role. Brand recognizability might be another, with franchises like Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter series having a proven track record; could that also be why Migos remain adamant on dealing almost exclusively in the sequel business? It’s difficult to say. Perhaps one day, when we’re waiting for good kid mAAder city, we can revisit.

Dr. Dre Caused Busta Rhymes Album Delay: “Welcome To Aftermath, N*gga”

The rapper was placed in an unusual position with his old collaborator.

Fans have been waiting to hear a fresh project from Busta Rhymes since Back On My B.S.*, which dropped in 2009. The rapper is finally getting ready to unleash new material, almost a decade later. Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden had a conversation with him during the Beats 1 NYC Studio opening last week during which the hiatus was explained.Busta said he was urged to dig deeper than he had in recent years. Dr. Dre pushed him to prove himself past his previous accomplishments.

“Nine albums later, I’m working on an album for nine years. The album that I’m getting ready to release, I’ve been recording this shit since 2000 and fucking nine. I credit that patience to the Dr. Dre experience because when I was in Aftermath, this was the first time that I was stripped of all the memorabilia of my accolades and what I’ve accomplished and how great Busta Rhymes is; in my own head and from the people and from my fucking resume. Dre be like, ‘Yo, you had a great one, but you want to do it different. You want to see new results, you gotta do it a new way. Welcome to Aftermath my n***a.’ I’m like, ‘What the fuck do this mean?’”

Knowing that the artist was forced into a process of growth only adds to the anticipation of his forthcoming project. Sound off in the comments.

* Busta released Year Of The Dragon in 2012, but it wasn’t as impactful as his previous project. It also isn’t available on any streaming platforms anymore either.

While we have a few more days to go until it drops, the two of them have officially revealed the project’s tracklist.Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih are gearing up to drop their new project, MihTy this Friday which is set to include eleven tracks. Ty Dolla $ign took to Instagram to share the project’s official tracklist which includes the song “The Light,” “Goin Thru Some Thangz” and the Lil Wayne-assisted single, “New Level.” It also features the song “Surrounded” which a snippet of previously leaked with vocals from Chris Brown. Aside from their joint effort, the two artists have been go-to collaborators for many of the biggest names in the music industry. Ty Dolla $ign’s vocals were heard on some of the biggest albums of the year such as Drake‘s Scorpion, Kanye West’s Ye, Kids See Ghosts, Tha Carters’ Everything Is Love and more.

G-Eazy & Halsey Reportedly Break Up Again

 Christopher Polk/ Getty Images

G-Eazy & Halsey have called it quits again.

It appears G-Eazy & Halsey just can’t seem to work through their issues. TMZ reports that the on-again, off-again couple are calling it quits for the second time in past three months.

The two have been inseparable from each other over the past couple months after reuniting while Gerald was on tour. They were spotted getting close at G-Eazy’s August tour stop in Columbus, Ohio, before linking up publicly at the AMA’s two weeks ago on the red carpet. G-Eazy even gave Halsey a loving shout out during her birthday last month, proclaiming her as his queen.

The two broke up the first time around due to infidelity rumors of G-Eazy cheating on her, but it’s unclear what caused this latest break up. It was reported that there schedules and distance a part was another force in driving them apart, which sounds like a possible reason for their latest break up.

“They tried to make the distance thing work, but the two of them are both super engaging and interactive people and it became too difficult for them to sustain a balanced and healthy relationship when they were spending so much time apart,” a source said about their first break up.

DJ Khaled Buys A Shit Ton Of Mega Million Lottery Tickets

 Christopher Polk/Getty Images

DJ Khaled is bring a whole new meaning to “Secure the bag 💼 alert.”

It looks like DJ Khaled is like the rest of us trying to win that 1.6 billion dollar drawing tonight for the Mega Millions. The We The Best CEO took to his Instagram page to show off the insane amount of tickets he was purchasing at the gas station tonight.

It’s unclear exactly how much Khaled dropped to buy the $2 tickets, but the lady working looks to have a stack of hundreds, maybe even a couple grand. Now with a purchase of only $2 bucks, Khaled believes he’s given himself a chance at better odds to be the lucky winner, but the odds at winning this are about 1 in 302 million. With all those possible combinations, the likelihood of winning is astronomically low, but Khaled is trying his best to get it.

According to reports, the lump sum cash reward for the winner is about $900 million, with government taking about half. So all in all, if there’s one winner they could win about 500 million cash after taxes, making the winner just as rich as Beyonce over night.

While it’s damn near impossible to win, it sure is fun to dream about what you would do with all that money, isn’t it? The drawing goes down within the next hour, so get your tickets ready.

Check out Khaled wildin’ out in the gas station and buying mad tickets (below).

Edit: It looks like Meek Mill joined in on the fun as well and bought a ton of tickets.

Pusha T Already Sold Out “Daytona” Concert In Drake’s Hometown Of Toronto

There must be a lot of fans on Pusha T’s side in Drake’s hometown.

Pusha T is getting ready to hit the road gain next week for the second leg in his on-going “Daytona Tour.” On Tuesday night, the GOOD Music President decided to promote the tour by sharing the dates on his Instagram page, while informing us that some of his shows are selling out quick so you better act fast if you are trying to see the Virginia emcee. However what’s ironic is that one of the three shows that’s already sold out happens to be in Toronto, Canada the hometown of his biggest rival, Drake.

“*Alexa, play “sold out dates” by Gunna & Lil Baby 🎟 (tickets in stories),” Pusha left as his caption while showing Toronto & New York City being sold out. For what it’s worth, the Toronto show is going down on a Tuesday night, November 20 to be exact, which isn’t the ideal night for a concert to sell out so early on. So either Drake has a lot of haters in his hometown or it’s pure coincidence that Pusha has a ton of fans in Toronto. Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting to see how the show goes down.

Peep Pusha’s tour dates (below) and cop tickets right here if he’s coming to a city near you.

Watch Ty Dolla $ign & Jeremih perform “The Light” on Kimmel.

On Monday night, Ty Dolla Sign & Jeremih made their way by the ABC studios and served as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they performed their new single “The Light” off their upcoming MihTy project.

Backed by a live band & a few dancers, the R&B singers performed their HitMaka_ produced collar live for a lively & fun crowd. Jeremih looked to a have response to Melanie Trump’s infamous “don’t care” jacket by rocking the same thing, but with it saying “God Save America” on it, while Ty Dolls rocked some Jesus sandals and rockstar chains.

All this went down on Monday night, hours before the two would go onto share the project’s tracklisting, which you can see for yourself here. Unfortunately there’s no features listed just quite yet, but that could very well be a surprise for Friday when the full project arrives.

Check out the live performance (below) and cop the single now on iTunes. Are you excited to finally hear Mihty this week?

The Real Keke, K’yanna Barber, Talks About Drake’s “In My Feelings” Shoutout & More

Watch the real Keke talk about meeting Drake through Kamaiyah and her “In My Feelings” shout out in new radio interview.

Following the release of Drake’s Scorpion and “In My Feelings” single, fans quickly turned into investigators and tried to find out who “Keke” was Drake kept referencing throughout the monster single. At first, people thought it could’ve been one of Drake’s old teenager girlfriends Keshia Chanté, while others liked the juicy rumors that it was Kim Kardashian, which Kanye even got at Drake about, but that doesn’t appear to be it (although he probably did smash her at one point or another). It turns out the real Keke is K’yanna Barber, a 24-year old woman who Drake was secretly dating last year apparently. Well recently, the real Keke stopped by Power106 LA and chopped it up with Felli Fel pretty much all things related to Drake.

K’yanna explains how she met Drake a couple years ago through rapper Kamaiyah, and she first heard the shoutout in “In My Feelings” when the rest of us did.

“I was kind of surprised by it myself when I heard it,” she said. “I was sitting in the living room with my son, my brother, my mom. We was just listening to the album like everybody else. You know, it’s Drake. He dropped new music. You listen to it. And eventually I got to ‘In My Feelings’ and we hear KeKe and my son goes like ‘mommy did he just say your name?”

K’yanna says there’s “a lot of little Keke’s running around in everybody hood,” but when she heard her initials, KB, that’s when they knew it was her and her mom lost it. “When we heard KB that’s when my mom started going crazy because that’s my actual initials,” she said.

In addition, K’yanna talks about launching her own music career, what she listens to, and more in the 15-minute interview. Check it out (below) and let us know your thoughts.

Kanye West Aiming For Three Grammy Nominations: Report

 Rob Kim/ Getty Images

Kanye West trying to get “Best Rock Song” & “Best Rock Performance” for his Kid Cudi song “Freeee”

Kanye West hasn’t won a Grammy in over 5 years, since 2012 to be exact when he snagged three for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “N****s In Paris,” and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “No Church In The Wild,” but that could be changing next year. According to TMZ, Def Jam have reportedly submitted Kanye for “Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Performance” for his song “Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)” with Kid Cudi for a Grammy nomination. The song, which is off him & Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts album, does have a rock element to it with the heavy drums and guitar strings & vocals so it does kinda make sense to be under that category.

The submissions have reportedly already made it through the screening process and were sent out on the first round ballot to voters on Wednesday. If Ye can get enough support for the song in the first round, then he’ll be nominated and up for the awards.

In addition to those two, sources told TMZ that Def Jam is also trying to get Kanye up for “Producer Of The Year” award as well. If you remember he did produce about five albums in as many weeks back in June, two of which (Pusha T & Teyana Taylor) are also trying to get Grammy nods.

This year’s show is going February 19th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. We’ll keep you posted on nominations and what not when they’re revealed.
