Kendrick Lamar has dropped a new music video for his track “Count Me Out,” which sees him open up to a shrink — played by legendary British actor Dame Helen Mirren.

The latest cut to be given the visual treatment from his latest album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppersfollows K. Dot as he sits in the therapist chair answering a variety of questions, including why he texted Mirren at 2am.

The visual, which was co-directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar himself, only includes the opening verse of the track, which has Kendrick reflecting on the perils of fame amongst other subjects.

The new music video comes after Kendrick dropped off videos for “Rich Spirit,” “We Cry Together,” “N95” and “The Heart Part 5” earlier this year. The latter is also nominated for Best Rap & Hip Hop Music Video at the HipHopDX Awards 2022. Kendrick is also nominated for Best Rapper, Best Hip Hop Song, and Best Hip Hop Album.

Kendrick also snagged eight 2023 Grammy Award nominations for his latest album. He’s picked up nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for “The Heart Part 5,” along with Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

While Kendrick Lamar wraps up the European leg of his Big Steppers Tour on Saturday (December 17), the California-bred lyricist will be hitting the stage again this summer as part of Primavera Sound 2023’s double weekend run, with his performances set for June 4 at the Parc Del Fòrum in Barcelona, and June 9 at Madrid’s Arganda Del Rey.

Fans unable to catch Kendrick Lamar on tour are now able to watch a full concert of his on Amazon Prime Video, where the rapper recorded his show in Paris, France at the Accor Arena.

The show was also a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of his universally praised second studio album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. Kendrick also released a limited edition vinyl reissue of the 2012 LP.
