Kanye West‘s Parler deal has been terminated as the two parties reportedly reached a mutual agreement to not go any further with Ye’s acquisition of the platform.

The announcement for the end of Kanye’s pursuit of Parler came shortly after his controversial appearance on far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ InfoWars show Thursday afternoon (December 1).

“In response to numerous media inquiries, Parlement Technologies would like to confirm that the company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale of Parler. This decision was made in the interest of both parties in mid-November,” Parler wrote on Twitter.

It added: “Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community.”

Kanye West had previously agreed to acquire the conservative social media platform in October in a deal for an undisclosed sum from Candance Owens’ husband, George Farmer, who is the current CEO of the company.

“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” the Chicago mogul said in a statement at the time.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t announced, although Parler previously raised $56 million in funding from outside investors.

The platform has become a favorite among conservatives since former president Donald Trump claimed he was being unfairly silenced by Twitter and other mainstream apps.

Parler, which was initially launched in 2018, was blacklisted by major tech companies including Google and Amazon last year for its role in the January 6, 2021 riots at the Capitol building.

Kanye’s InfoWars appearance saw him praise Adolf Hitler for his alleged contributions to society outside of being an anti-Semitic murderer.

“Well, I see good things about Hitler also,” Kanye said. “I love everyone and Jewish people are not gonna tell me, you can love us and you can love what we’re doing to you with the contracts and you can love what we’re pushing with the pornography, and this guy who invented highways, who invented the very microphone I use as a musician, you can’t say out loud that this person ever did anything good, and I’m done with that.”

He continued: “I’m done with the classification. Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler.”
