Gucci Mane and Jeezy participated in one of the most-watched Verzuz battles in the platform’s history in November 2020. The event brought together two former rivals who appeared content on keeping it that way — at least on Gucci Mane’s end.
After kicking off the evening with the 2012 Jeezy diss track “Round 1,” Gucci continued growing increasingly disrespectful until The Snowman finally put him in his place.
“See when I called you and extended this invite, my n-gga, I did it as a real man,” he said at the time. “It’s been 20 muthafuckin’ years … you still talking the same shit. The shit we came from in the street, we been through it, dawg.
“Twenty years and when I said I wanted to do this for the culture, that’s what I wanted to do. I brought you here to show you the world care about what the fuck we got going on because we are the culture. Me and you, where we came from, what we been through, n-gga, us.”
The two shook hands and ultimately made peace, bringing a long, contentious chapter to a close.
Now, in the ultimate sign of solidarity, Jeezy and Gucci Mane have announced a joint tour. On Wednesday (September 8), Jeezy shared an Instagram post unveiling the Legendz of The Streetz Tour featuring Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Boosie Badazz, Trina and DJ Drama.
“The Biggest Tour of the year.. ft yours truly BIG SNO,” Jeezy wrote in the caption. “Coming to a city near you. This will be epic. Legendary! Let’s get it #LegendzofTheStreetzTour.”
More dates are expected to be announced in the near future, but the monster lineup is currently scheduled to hit Augusta, Georgia on September 30, Atlanta on October 1 and wrap up in Memphis on October 22.
Other stops along the way include Houston, Baltimore, Greensboro, Dallas, Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa. Tickets are available here.
