• COI LERAY JOINS SLEEPY HALLOW FOR NEW VERSION OF ‘2055’

Coi Leray Joins Sleepy Hallow For New Version Of ‘2055’

Brooklyn Drill maestro and 2021 HipHopDX Rising Star Sleepy Hallow has plenty of material from his recently released Still Sleep? album going into his upcoming performance at The Great New York State Fair.

To up the ante, he recently added the media magnet, Coi Leray, to the remix of his melodic hit, “2055.”

Without belaboring the song length, the “BIG PURR” rapper slides in with her patented, rapid-fire spills as Sleepy Hallow maintains his cruise control flow through the Great John concoction.

Coi Leray’s addition to “2055” comes at the legit, perfect time. The futuristic track recently cracked the Billboard Hot 100, making for Sleepy Hallow’s second entry on the chart following the infectious TikTok classic, “Deep End Freestyle.”

The song also recently held the coveted RapCaviar playlist crown on its way to 74 million streams to date.

To promote the Coi Leray update, Sleepy Hallow enlisted the services of director Aylo, as well as animators Owen Khang and Thomas Ritson for a short but satisfying visualizer to convey the track’s emotional properties in living color.

That goes double for his peers, with the likes of JAY-Z, J. Cole and Polo G also offering their praise along the ascension. The latter rap star extraordinaire recently hopped on the remix to “Trenches,” a standout track from the aforementioned Street Sermons project.

On Friday (July 30), the Fayetteville native unleashed the Justice Silvera-directed visual which showcases him and Polo G repping the trap and a chop shop seamlessly. The video’s storyline chronicles the everyday struggle for many Americans looking to put a troubled past behind them.

  • DABABY USED AS A SHIELD AFTER ‘SNL’ STAR MICHAEL CHE COSIGNS ‘TASTELESS’ SIMONE BILES JOKE

DaBaby Used As A Shield After ‘SNL’ Star Michael Che Cosigns ‘Tasteless’ Simone Biles Joke

Although DaBaby is likely the world’s biggest wisher time machines existed this week after his homophobic Rolling Loud commentary engulfed social media, he’s not the only celebrity who failed to read the room as of late.

Saturday Night Live vet Michael Che entered the chat and finalized his own cancelation on Friday (July 30) after using social media to target American Olympic gymnast Simone Biles for no better reason than of his own words to “choose violence.”

The 27-time Gold medalist recently made headlines for withdrawing from a Tokyo competition, citing mental health as the reason.

“Man, I wanna make fun of Simone Biles,” the 38-year-old comedian wrote in his Instagram story on Thursday (July 30).

“I got like 3 mins of Simone Biles jokes in my head,” he continued. “As the dorky kids say, I’m choosing violence.”

He then offered a “9/10” rating for a supposed follower’s joke about Larry Nassar, the disgraced and convicted rapist who sexually assaulted nearly 200 women during his 18-year tenure as the United States women’s national gymnastics team doctor.

JAY-Z CONFIDENT ‘CANCEL CULTURE’ IS HERE TO STAY WHILE EXPLAINING SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUES

After enduring hours of being slaughtered online, Michael Che then scrubbed his Instagram account after waving the white flag with the infamous “hacked” response — while dragging DaBaby down with him.

“Maaannnn, i got hacked today. cant believe they got me. yall know i only do jokes about whites and cops,” the now-deleted post read. “s’all good now, i changed my password and everything…

“Y’all heard about DaBaby, tho..? Thats crazy.. Iight. See y’all at church. Imma get there early.”

Perhaps he’ll recap the entire ordeal on the upcoming SNL Weekend Update? That is, if he gets that “hacked” situation under control.

DaBaby, for his part, doubled down on the uprising of criticism spawned from spreading egregious misinformation about HIV by dedicating the plight to his new video, “Giving What It’s Supposed To Give.”

  • LIL WAYNE ADDS COLOSSAL YOUNG MONEY DIAMOND CHAIN TO COLLECTION, OFFSET ICES OUT MIGOS

Lil Wayne Adds Colossal Young Money Diamond Chain To Collection, Offset Ices Out Migos

Never forget it was a 16-year-old Lil Wayne on the chorus of the 1999 game-changing Cash Money record, “Bling, Bling.”

The song, led by currently incarcerated Hot Boys rapper B.G., officially ushered in an era where ice became one of Hip Hop’s top accessories.

Since then, Lil Wayne has been immortalized in his role as a rap CEO, counting Drake and Nicki Minaj’s seemingly bottomless wins to his own Young Money Records empire.

To celebrate his non-stop winning, Lil Wayne consulted famed Hip Hop jeweler Elliot Eliantte — known for his slogan “#ShouldaWentToElliot” — for a fairly sizable Young Money diamond pendant.

“Young Mula Baby! @liltunechi Voice,” Elliot wrote on Instagram, flashing the radiant hardware on Thursday (July 30).

The New York-based stone lord’s popularity has grown exponentially since he was responsible for Lil Uzi Vert’s purported $24 million forehead diamond that drew blood from his colored mane — and his popularity didn’t cease this week with that Lil Wayne post.

Following up on Friday (July 31), the one-million-follower Instagram account presented Migos’ Offset’s latest piece, which showcases Quavo, Takeoff and his own likeness encased in an array of gold and diamonds.

“Should’ve went to Elliot cuz I DID,” Cardi B’s husband wrote in the comments.

Offset’s latest fashionable purchase is par for the course seeing that the Migos spitter recently co-released the YouTube-sanctioned documentary ICE COLD: The Promise of Hip Hop Jewelry, and is hosting his own HBO Max reality show The Hype.

  • JAY-Z HAS 100 JOB APPLICATIONS PAYING ABOVE MINIMUM WAGE TOWARDS 40/40 CLUB REOPENING

JAY-Z Has 100 Job Applications Paying Above Minimum Wage Towards 40/40 Club Reopening

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Looking towards a world where the only Delta in news headlines is the airplane, JAY-Z is plotting the reopening of his rapper-pioneering 40/40 Club (sorry, Soulja Boy).

The New York City hotspot originally opened in 2003 with countless rap celebrities entering its doors such as Meek Mill, Jeezy, and Fabolous — and that was just a random Airbnb party in 2014. The past two decades also saw the launch of 40/40 iterations in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Brooklyn and Atlanta.

According to Page Six, JAY-Z is planning to hire 100 staffers, cutting into the national worker shortage while ensuring they make above minimum wage.

Over the weekend, the 40/40 Club is said to be hosting an afternoon open call for bartenders and servers, the latter earning up to $20 per hour, besting New York’s minimum wage in the job market by a good $5.

As of press time, the venue has a planned reinstatement of August 4.

The 40/40 Club reopening isn’t JAY-Z’s only ongoing initiative to uplift the working class. His Roc Nation imprint recently joined a line of investors — including Will Smith’s company Dreamers VC — to help fund Landis Technologies, a startup focused on morphing low-income renters into homeowners through an educational process.
