MORGAN FREEMAN REVEALS HE NARRATED 21 SAVAGE’S ‘SAVAGE MODE 2’ FOR THE WISDOM & BAD GUY ROLE

Morgan Freeman Reveals He Narrated 21 Savage's 'Savage Mode 2' For The Wisdom & Bad Guy Role

One of the biggest surprises on 21 Savage and Metro Boomin‘s Savage Mode 2 was the involvement of Morgan Freeman. Despite featuring in the trailer, fans weren’t to know the veteran actor would be all over the actual album, appearing on the intro, interlude and the end of other songs.

In a GQ interview published on Tuesday (October 6), Freeman explained why he decided to step out of his comfort zone and into the realm of Hip Hop. He’s played everyone from God in Bruce Almighty to a wizard in The Lego Movie, but the chance to play someone who wasn’t a nice guy was something he couldn’t turn down.

“What happens is you sort of get locked into a position,” he said. “Henry Fonda was in it, Spencer Tracy was in it, James Stewart was in it, even though he played a couple of bad guys. You don’t really don’t want to be cast into a mold, but after a few years, it’s bound to happen. Every [offer] that’s outside of what you consider [your] mold is fun to do. I got to jump at it.”

21 SAVAGE FANS THINK HE GOT MORGAN FREEMAN TO DISS TEKASHI 6IX9INE ON ‘SAVAGE MODE 2’

Freeman was impressed with the script and feels the message is a good thing for young people to learn from.

“I read the copy and was like wow, there’s some wisdom in here,” he recalled. “I think this is the way I think. It’s basically saying don’t suffer fools and when you want something go for that,” he says, adding “If [Savage’s music] is a young people thing, then this is stuff they need to be aware of. So it’s a good thing to do.”

Freeman may be 83 years old, but he still resonates with the youth. He points to a classic 1994 film when asked about the likely access point for his work, and recognized the way he’s portrayed to people.

“It’s Shawshank [Redemption],” he said. “Or it’s just, a lot of people call [my voice] the ‘voice of God.’”

Freeman’s unlikely appearance on Savage Mode 2 inspired countless memes across social media, including people editing 21’s knife tattoo onto his forehead.

Freeman’s narration is the first voice heard on the album, as he sets the scene on “Intro.”

“Great men with great ideals can be separated by hundreds or even thousands of miles and still be in the same place/They can be years or even generations apart in age/And yet, somehow, find themselves on the exact same page,” he says.

Savage Mode 2 features Drake, Young Thug and Young Nudy, and is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with around 170,000-195,000 album-equivalent units, according to Hits Daily Double.

CARDI B EMBRACES ‘SINGLE, BAD & RICH’ LIFE AS A DEVIL & RESPONDS TO ILLUMINATI TROLLS

Cardi B Embraces 'Single, Bad & Rich' Life As A Devil & Responds To Illuminati Trolls

Cardi B may be going through a divorce with Offset, but she isn’t letting that put a damper on her mood at all. On Tuesday (October 6), the Bronx rapper took to Instagram to embrace her new life as a single woman while dressed in a red devil costume — complete with horns.

“Single, bad and rich,” she wrote in the caption. “I do the controlling.”

Offset actually liked the photo, suggesting there are no hard feelings between him and his ex-wife. But what was intended to be an innocent post showing off her look and lifestyle was met with replies about the Illuminati. Users flooded the comment section with references to the caption and what she’s wearing in the photo.

“Smh Illuminati horns,” a user wrote, while another claimed, “You sold your soul for fame and money.”

Others said “ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED” and “Illuminati has joined the chat.”

Clearly, Cardi couldn’t help but read through the responses. She followed up the original post with another shortly after, shutting down talk about the secret society.

“Stop with the Illuminati shit,” she said. “It was just costumes for a TikTok video DAMN!”

She also wrote in the comments, “I will never join nothing I rather die broke. [Money can’t] buy my faith in GOD.”

Cardi countered the devil by wearing an angel costume with wings. With Halloween just around the corner, both outfits are fitting for this time of year.

On September 15, it was announced Cardi had filed for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage with the Migos rapper. Just over a week later, she took to her Instagram Stories to dismiss rumors about going through with the divorce for attention.

“I want to address another bullshit that I heard,” she said. “Another blogger claims that I am getting a divorce for attention. And it’s like, you think I’m going to pay a lawyer 20,000 fucking dollars?! They’re like, ‘I just find it so funny that Cardi is getting a divorce around this time she got a record called ‘Me Gusta’ out.’ First, of all, ‘Me Gusta’ is not even my record, it’s Anitta’s record. So I’m not even getting a huge piece of the song.”

CARDI B SAYS KULTURE HITS HER EXPLICIT MOUTH WITH THE CENSOR BUTTON

She added, “I get along with his mother very well. You think I’m gonna do that to her son for attention? Why do I need attention? You don’t see I have millions of fucking followers? Do you see that I have the No. 1 song in the fucking world? Why do I need attention? Why do I need stunts?”

BAPE x OVO Collaboration Is Coming Soon

BAPE reveal they have a collaboration with Drake’s OVO brand in the works.

OVO has become a recognized brand in its own right, something that has legs beyond just Drake‘s music and those who are a fan of the superstar. Drizzy’s positioned OVO as a credible streetwear-influenced fashion staple, and he’s added to their authenticity by collaborating with fellow highly-coveted brands, such as Canada Goose, Nike, and the list goes on.

Following the news of a brand new OVO shop opening up in Los Angeles, BAPE has taken to their social media this morning to reveal another exciting bit of news for OVO fans: the confirmation of a collaborative line. The announcement comes with signature BAPE imagery, that is, their trademark camo print and their ape logo beside Drake’s owl logo. The caption is equally straightforward: “A BATHING APE x OCTOBER’S VERY OWN coming soon.”

BAPE hasn’t shared any other details beyond this, but it is the month of October, so it’s possible we’ll receive this drop as soon as the next 25 days or so.

Is this a collab you’ll be spending your money on? Let us know.

21 Savage & Metro Boomin Unveil Alternate Cover Art For “Savage Mode 2”

21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s alternate cover artwork for “Savage Mode 2” recalls the design of the first “Savage Mode”.

If you weren’t a fan of the Pen and Pixel-designed cover artwork for Savage Mode 2, which recalls some of the hottest mixtapes from the 90s and 00s, then 21 Savage and Metro Boomin are coming through with another cover that you might be more privy to.

With the album looking set for a dominant debut atop the Billboard 200, the pioneers behind Savage Mode 2 are looking to capitalize on the album’s success at every corner. That means merch, merch, and more merch.

Savage and Boomin have been offering a wide selection of clothing and accessories, also stocking their website with physical copies of the album for the collectors who want to look back at the vinyl in a few years and remember how they felt when it initially dropped.

Savage Mode 2 is offered in a few different physical options. Now sold out, the original vinyl had the original Savage Mode 2 cover on it. A new product is officially available at the shop though, which will be a welcome surprise for fans of the first tape.

The second version of the vinyl release features a brand new cover that recalls the first Savage Mode, this time showing two daggers interlaced with blood spewing throughout.

Alongside the record, you can also cop a $15 t-shirt + album combo, which will surely be a fan favorite, as well as a photo book looking back on Savage and Boomin’s journey to this point.

Are you a fan of the alternate cover artwork or is the original more your style?
