Fabolous Is Working On New Music

Following a self-imposed studio quarantine, Fabolous has returned to the booth to lay down some new music.

Fabolous fans have been eating of late, following the release of projects like the Jadakiss-collaboration album Friday On Elm Street and his own recent solo album Summertime Shootout 3. Pretty impressive considering Fab has been active in the game for over twenty years, his punchlines never dulling with time. And while another emcee may have contemplated retirement by now, Fab has yet to lose his drive. In fact, he’s once again set up shop in the studio, putting in work on an unknown project.

“Studio Quarantine over,” captions Loso, alongside a picture of himself stepping to the mic. “Let’s see if i still know how to do this.” Of course, it’s likely the latter quip isn’t meant to be taken seriously, as it’s hard to believe that Fab would lose a step at this stage in the game. Still, it implies that Fab spent the majority of the quarantine period laying low, meaning he’ll probably have a lot to get off his chest when this new music ultimately arrives.

Again, it’s unclear as to whether Fab is working on a new album, or simply a freestyle to keep the rust from settling in. Either way, it’s a good time to be a fan, especially if he decides to take the mixtape route on this go-around — are you checking for new Fabolous music?

Wiz Khalifa Shares Album Cover For “Big Pimpin”

Wiz Khalifa proves he’s still going strong as he unveils the album cover for his upcoming “Big Pimpin” project.

Wiz Khalifa has settled nicely into the veteran position, a respected name that once helped shape the sound of rap’s new generation. With his affable nature and unrivaled love for marijuana, it became difficult not to appreciate Khalifa’s simple joie de vivre. In many ways, he’s a simple man, eager to spark up a doobie and cozy up with a nice-looking woman. If that isn’t vicarious escapism, what is?

Nearly fifteen years removed from his 2006 debut album Show And Prove, Wiz is gearing up to drop off another new release, this one’s title calling back to a classic Jay-Z tune: Big Pimpin. While we don’t have a release date, or any real concrete information about the album for that matter, Wiz did take a moment to share the official album artwork on his Instagram page.

“Almost finished with the music. Wanted to keep you guys updated on the artwork,” he writes, alongside the cartoonish artwork. In many ways, the image is peak Khalifa, capturing his appreciation for the lavish lifestyle and his affinity for hotboxing at any given opportunity. It’s unclear when we’ll be getting this one in full, but it bodes well that Wiz is keeping his pace strong this deep into his career. Are you excited to see what he’s been cooking up?

Drake Holds It Down For Hip-Hop’s Fallen In New Pic

On his new t-shirt, Drake took a moment to pay respects to Mac Miller, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, Juice WRLD, and more.

Yesterday was a reasonably busy day for Drake, who premiered a bevy of new accents on the hard-hitting Headie One-assisted “Only You Freestyle.” And while scholars and casuals alike attempted to make sense of his linguistics and slang, the man himself took to Instagram to try out some new captions. In one particular picture, Drizzy can be seen rocking an interesting shirt, one that points to admirable respect for hip-hop’s fallen soldiers.

The shirt, which depicts Lil Peep, Mac Miller, Juice WRLD, Nipsey Hussle, A$AP Yams, Fredo Santana, and XXXTentacion (with whom he once nursed a previous rivalry), captured immediate attention. In fact, many seemed to appreciate Drake spotlighting the lost ones, with several people inquiring after the shirt itself.

On that note, the artwork was done by a painter named Zan, who can be seen on Instagram right here; for those interested, many of his pieces center around several rappers, with pieces on Young ThugNavFutureThe Weeknd, Trippie Redd, Kanye West, and more. While, in all honesty, there’s only so much significance a t-shirt can hold, it’s still cool to see one of rap’s biggest superstars shining a light on those we’ve lost in recent memory. Check out the shirt below, and should you be interested, revisit Drizzy’s latest music drop.

Xzibit & Dr. Dre Cook Up New Music In The Studio

With a new Serial Killers project on the way, Xzibit hits the lab with Dr. Dre to preview a hard-hitting Rick Rock-produced banger.

While neither party has been steadily releasing new music these days, the esteemed partnership of Xzibit and Dr. Dre will always elicit nostalgia in those who remember their reign. And what a reign it was, boasting tracks like “X,” “Bitch Please,” “Best Of Things,” “Losin’ Your Mind,” “Choke Me Spank Me Pull My Hair,” and “U Know.”

Though it’s been a while since Xzibit has rapped over Dre’s production, we’ve recently seen them reunited in the studio, working on X’s upcoming Serial Killers project with B-Real and Demrick. For those wondering about that particular collective, we recently saw them make their debut Day Of The Dead on Halloween of 2018. Now, with the follow-up in the works, X has enlisted the mixing talents of Dr. Dre, unrivaled in that particular field even now.

Look no further than this new studio preview, in which Dre engineers a hard-hitting instrumental from longtime Xzibit collaborator Rick Rock. It’s easy to picture X’s cadence blending nicely with this one, and we’re looking forward to seeing it arrive in full on the next Serial Killers drop. And when the time does come for that, it should be interesting to see whether the Doc came through with a beat or two, a rare honor seemingly reserved for a select group. Still, X and Dre go back a long time, and if anyone could land some production from the Good Doctor, well…

Future & Lil Uzi Vert Are About To Drop New Music

Future and Lil Uzi Vert are gearing up to deliver their upcoming collaboration, which appears to come complete with a music video.

Future has always been prolific, releasing new music at a rate to rival any of his hip-hop peers. And up until the back-to-back release of Lil Uzi Vert‘s Eternal Atake and Lil Uzi Vert Vs The World 2, the beloved Philadelphia rapper felt like the total opposite. Which is to say, elusive; lest we forget that the road to Eternal Atake was long and winding. Luckily, it seems as if this is the dawn of a new era, one where Lil Uzi Vert is releasing new music at a refreshing pace.

Case in point, Future and Lil Uzi Vert are gearing up to release a brand new single, presumably this Friday. Both parties took to their respective Instagram pages to promote the new drop, sharing a brief visual teaser for the upcoming video. While it’s not much to go on — we don’t even have a song title yet — it does seem to indicate a cinematic flair not unlike Future and Drake‘s “Life Is Good.”

On that note, previous posts have provided further insight into the clip, which is set to find both Future and Lil Uzi spitting bars from a ring of fire. While this might be a reach, it wouldn’t be surprising if the song had a certain intensity to it. Seems like we’ll find out before long. Check out the brief teaser below, and sound off — are you excited for a new collaboration from Pluto and his baby variant?
