6LACK returns to the fold with new single “ATL Freestyle,” teasing even more music to come.

It’s been a lengthy waiting period for 6LACK’s loyal fanbase, a group that includes quite an impressive number of streaming listeners. Yet promises of new music have been made by the Atlanta singer slash rapper, and it would appear that the first signs are beginning to manifest. Not only has 6LACK launched his brand new website, which appears to feature a mysterious password-protected folder, but he also delivered his first single in years — “ATL Freestyle.””Come for mines and guns up,” he warns, his laid-back delivery blending effectively with the mellow guitar production. “Wanna talk, better run your funds up / I’m from the 5, middle finger like I’m Nudy, it’s mister turn a Tabernacle to a movie.” Featuring plenty of references to his hometown, unsurprising given the song’s title, it’s clear that 6LACK is continuing to explore themes of space and identity in his upcoming music. From the sound of it, it doesn’t appear that he’ll be switching things up too drastically, but rather continuing to expand on his established and effective stylistic format.
