Celebrating the life of a young talent.

The hip hop world is once again mourning the death of a young artist whose life was snuffed out far too soon. On the first day of the new year it was reported that 21-year-old rapper Lexii Alijai had passed away. While there hasn’t been news on a cause of death, many artists have come forward to share their grief regarding her death.

“This sh*t was so much deeper than music. That was my little sister,” Kehlani tweeted as soon as she heard the news. On Thursday she added, “I’m on a plane i’m a lil tipsy i’m lookin at the clouds grieving and feelin sensitive on the internet wit my 24 year old human ass. i’m sorry for anything that come off w hella energy behind it for a while. Truth is i’m angry as f*ck. & i don’t feel like pretending i’m not.”

To celebrate Lexii Alijai’s life and music, we’re taking things back and sharing the rapper’s title track from her 2017 project Growing Pains. Give it a few spins and share your thoughts. Rest in peace.

Quotable Lyrics

And, it’s my year right now
Everybody that’s important to me, here right now
Spit the sh*t that the world need to hear right now
And, all the lil girls in high school could feel right now
Uh, I took a break from rappin, just to focus on my health
Was really in the gym, I had to focus on myself
How could you blame me for being human? I’m only me
Word is bond, Imma make it, and you gon’ see
What you gon’ do when you see me up on your television?
Lexii, the hottest in the city, what they fail to mention
Even though I don’t need nobody to stamp me
Plan A gon’ work, f*ck a plan B
Say she f*ckin’ with Lexii, but nah, she can’t be
Blind to the bullsh*t, like I can’t see
And, I been working on this mixtape
And, at the same time, I been out here tryna get my sh*t straight
Yeah, tryna get my sh*t straight
Same time I been working on a mixtape
Lil Lexii got a big plate

Reason back with the remix.

TDE is still one of the hardest labels in hip-hop right now and it’s largely due to the fact that they’ve kept recruiting incredible talent over the years. Sure, we’re still waiting on Kendrick’s next album but Top Dawg Entertainment clearly has a few other projects in the cut that they’re readying to unleash. Reason appears to be one of the artists on the roster who fans are eagerly waiting on for a new project and it doesn’t seem too far away.

Over the last few weeks, Reason’s unleashed a few tracks starting with “Same Ol Shit.” He followed it up with his collaboration with Ab-Soul on “Flick It Up” and now, he’s kicking off 2020 with the remix. Enlisting Dreamville’s Bas, as well as emerging acts Junii and Jah The Great, Reason rallies the troops and brings “Flick It Up” to new heights.

Tity Boi takes to prowling in the A.

Last year, 2 Chainz was among the first A-list artists to drop an album, with Rap Or Go To The League arriving at the onset of March. We can only hope that history is destined to repeat itself in 2020 before the WWIII memes drown us all. Luckily, all signs point to another body of work from Tity Boi arriving in the near future, as he’s blessed us with yet another warm-up drop. This time around, we’re looking at “Falcons Hawks Braves,” which arrives in tandem with some Terrius Mykel-directed visuals.

Taking to a smooth and unassuming instrumental, 2 Chainz proves why he’s absolutely deadly with the flow, switching up when you least expect it. “Beast mode shawty, the big ol’ Rari, the shoes not Mari, I know these my kids I don’t need Maury,” he raps. “Need a humidifier this whole flow cloudy, all this drip n***a you gon’ need Downy.”

Check out the latest loosie from 2 Chainz right here, and if you missed it, last week’s offering of “Somebody Need To Hear This.” You think he’s gearing up to bless us with an album?

Boosie Badazz Explains Why He Beats Up His Children
Volume 0%

His love for RiRi will never end.

By now, the entire world knows that Boosie Badazz has a soft spot for Rihanna. Over the years, the rapper has made it clear that if the Savage x Fenty mogul would have him, he’d be more than eager to blissfully live his life as Mr. Fenty. Last year, Boosie shared a video of himself dancing with the caption, “HOW IM GO BE WHEN I GET THAT CALL FROM @badgalriri.” However, because she’s happily in love with her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel, all the shots Boosie’s has taken have missed their marks.

In another clip from his VladTV interview, Boosie said he still wants Ri, but he knows it’s not meant to be. “Rihanna don’t want me, man,” Boosie said sadly. “I still love her. She a beautiful woman. Everybody got people who they infatuated with. That’s one thing… Every artist in this game got somebody who they infatuated with, like, they f*ck with. They just f*ck with them. But, Rihanna don’t want me though. Imma real n*gga. It’ll be beautiful.”

Boosie has slid into Rihanna’s DMs and recalled seeing some of her sexy images on Instagram. “I seen that picture, I was like, ‘Lord Jesus,'” he said. “That girl look like my uncle potato salad. I swear to god. My mouth was wet like a dog. You know when that dog [pants]. I said, ‘Lord Jesus, this is a beautiful black woman. They got some beautiful women in the world and she one of ’em. And she a boss. That up the grade. She just a boss. I don’t see how a n*gga let that go.”

Then, Vlad looked up her net worth and told Boosie that Rihanna is worth $600 million. “I’ll make her worth $600 billion,” he said. “Imma hustler.” Watch his lustful clip below.
