LOS ANGELES, CA – As details surrounding the melee at Nipsey Hussle’s memorial continue to trickle in, the LAPD is attempting to “restore order” and say reports of shots fired “appear” not to be accurate.

In two separate tweets, officials say, “Our men and women are on scene and making every effort to protect everyone in attendance at the Nipsey Hussle vigil. Reports of shots fired at the vigil do not appear to be accurate. We do have injured in the chaos and are attempting to restore order.

“We understand the community is mourning and we feel your loss. We are asking for everyone to follow the officers directions and disperse from the immediate area.”

According to a follow-up tweet from CBS Los Angeles, police said no shots were fired but did suggest someone was stabbed.

“UPDATE: Police say no shots were fired at the memorial,” the tweet read. “Authorities investigating possible stabbing. Multiple people injured.”

In an initial tweet from KCAL9 Los Angeles reporter Jeff Vaughn, he alleged “shots fired” and indicated two were injured at the Hyde Park memorial.

Only a day after Nipsey Hussle was gunned down in front of his Los Angeles clothing store, the violence continues — this time, at his memorial. Two people have reportedly been shot and six others have been reportedly stabbed as attendees hurled rocks and candles into the crowd.

One reporter told KGW8 it appeared two people were also run over as they tried to flee.

Footage captured by CBS Los Angeles shows a large, peaceful crowd but suddenly everyone starts to scatter. Multiple people were trampled as they tried to get away.

The Grammy Award-nominated rapper was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon (March 31).
