NEW YORK, NY – Nicki Minaj was the musical guest for the season finale of Saturday Night Liveon Saturday (May 19).
During her performance, the Queens superstar did a live rendition of “Chun-Li” while wearing traditional Japanese garb.
Minaj, whose performance comes ahead of her forthcoming album Queen, also wore chopsticks in her hair, had several Asian backup dancers and used an Asian-style pavilion as part of the backdrop.
After the show aired, Twitter exploded with tweets accusing Minaj of cultural appropriation. Many people questioned why a white Utah teenager was recently accused of cultural appropriation for attending her high school senior prom in a Chinese-themed dress while Minaj seemed to get a pass.
Last September, Minaj spoke out against the cultural appropriation in the fashion industry while performing at Philipp Plein Spring/Summer ’18 runway show during New York Fashion Week.
“Thank you for including our culture,” she said. “Designers get really big, really rich off of our culture, and then you don’t see a motherfucker that look anything like us in the front row half the time.”
Nonetheless, multiple Twitter users were outraged Minaj wasn’t held accountable for Saturday’s appearance on SNL.
Check out the reactions below.
How can a Caucasian 18 year old girl gets ridiculed for “cultural appropriation” for wearing a beautiful Asian inspired gown, but Nicki Minaj performs and raps in complete Asian theme with “Chun Li” on SNL & it’s cool? PS, I like the song & both women are fine.

Anderson .Paak Thinks Meek Mill Should’ve Met With Donald Trump
NEW YORK, NY – Anderson .Paak believes Meek Mill should’ve followed through with his plan to attend the prison reform summit at the White House earlier this week.
Meek pulled out of the commitment after JAY-Z reportedly convinced him that aligning himself with Donald Trump in any way was a bad look.
But .Paak, whose own mother was incarcerated for over seven years, thinks Meek has the power to make a difference.
I think if Meek Mill had his mind set to go and do what he had to do, I think maybe he should have did that, the “Bubblin’” rapper told TMZ. “My mom was in prison for seven and a half years and I know that’s a big issue, that’s a major issue — prison reform — that shit need to be rectified A.S.A.P.
“It’s so much cheap labor that goes into it. It really does need to be magnified and looked at. And Meek is the man for that.”
.Paak went on to say he thinks Meek missed an important opportunity.
“If they would have went in and did something, worked together, came out with something that actually helped the situation, that’s what you want,” he said. “Who gives a damn, if that’s what it is. We got how many more years with this dude? It’s like, ‘OK, this is what it is. Let me show you, this is what needs to happen.’ And they come together and make something happen. What? How can you hate on that?”
Meek issued a statement on Friday (May 18) explaining his reason for canceling his scheduled meeting at the White House.
“Unfortunately, the focus turned to the President and myself which concerned me that it might take away from creating a positive result from today’s discussions,” he said. “As a result, I decided not to attend, so that the focus would be solely on fixing our prison system. Most importantly, I remain fully committed to improving our criminal justice system.”
Whether Trump was going to attend the prison reform summit was never confirmed.
Mike Jones Swears He’s Not Hating On Quavo
HOUSTON, TX – After a fan recently told Mike Jones he sounded like Quavo, the veteran Houston rapper reminded them, “I was here 1st!”
On Friday (May 18), Jones took to Instagram to clarify that he’s not hating on the Migos rapper; he simply doesn’t understand the comparison.
“Got nothing but love for @QuavoStuntin,” Jones wrote. “I don’t kno why people keep coming to me, saying I sound like him, when I don’t! I’m not hating, and not trying to get publicity from this, the people keep hitting me, it’s enough money for everybody!”

From 2005’s “Still Tippin’” featuring Paul Wall and Slim Thug to “Back Then,” Jones has been pumping out tracks for nearly 20 years.
“U sound jus like quavo in back then,” the fan wrote. “U gotta get bacc in the booth w that sauce get some Beats new wave shit.”
Jones replied, “Lol he sound like me!! I was here 1st! and my new single ‘Sauce’ is out everywhere!! google Mike Jones Sauce, Enjoy!!”

Young Thug Says He Bribed His Baby Mama For An Abortion On Lil Baby’s “Right Now”
Young Thug’s lyrics on his track with Lil Baby tells an emotional tale.
Thug also acknowledges his recent woes, rapping, “My last two years were the worst ones in my career, but I’m still rich as you.” Thug released 2 albums last year, Beautiful Thugger Girls and Super Slimey with Future, so professionally it seemed like his career was going fine. But the trials of fame are many, and perhaps Thug is beginning to put his fame and fortune into perspective.
Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose Take Son Bash To Meet Taylor Swift: Watch
Bash was very excited to meet one of his favorite artists.
Amber and Taylor got their own selfie together, which Amber put up on Instagram, as well as a picture of Bash and Taylor hanging out on a throne. “Thank you @taylorswift you have made my baby the happiest lil Pumpkin ever!” she captioned the picture.
Bash showed he was a huge Taylor fan when Amber posted a video of him singing along to Reputation single “Look What You Made Me Do.” It led to Taylor sending concert tickets to Amber, Wiz, and Bash. After posting the video of Bash singing the song, Amber responded to trolls who made assumptions about his sexuality based on his taste in music. “Let’s do better for the next generation people. Grow the fuck up and teach ur kids to love and not hate,” she said.
As we learned last week, Bash seems to be taking an interest in music. Amber revealed that her son was singing Queen in a talent show at school. It seems like Bash may be following in his father’s footsteps.
Chris Brown & Wiz Khalifa Show Off Their Snazzy Car Collections
“I’ve done did a lot of s— just to live this here lifestyle.”
On the other hand, Wiz Khalifa is a “real mothafuckin’ player,” when it comes picking the right paint job. His car collection is something out of a Blaxploitation film. As you can see, the man likes to shop “Vintage.” His Chevy El Camino has a two-fold racing strip, and that’s only what we see on the surface, who knows what’s under the scoop? He’s got the drop tops lined up, one outfitted with special decals, the type detail you can’t apply by hand or with a glue gun. Wiz even shows off his Mustang, which by all accounts is pretty “middle of the road,” but his looks a little angrier than the one’s you see on the road.

In a social media world where artists’ activities are front and center for the world to judge, people often get distracted from the music. But Nick Grant has been able to deliver music to his fans over the years without getting caught up in any overly sensationalized headlines. He’s about to keep his momentum going with his Dreamin’ Out Loud project, which is set to drop on May 18.
Since around August of last year, Grant has been posting to his Instagram with #DreaminOutLoud. Through his singles “’96 Bulls” and “The Switch Up,” it became apparent the hashtag was the title of his upcoming project. In the last day or so, he’s posted snippets of new songs from the mixtape, as well as the cover art and the release date.
In a recent interview on TuneIn, Nick explained the meaning behind the title of the tape as his realization of making it this far. His says his success and praise from respected artists like JAY-Z, Lauryn Hill and Andre 3000 were unexpected.
“The title stems from dreaming out loud because it was a long grind to even get to this point,” he said. “It was at least 10 years to get to this point. So when I get here, everything just happened so fast.”
He also talks about his love for jazz musician Joe Sample, working with Organized Noize, and going harder than ever now that his foot is in the door.

Nicki Minaj Relocates Strip Club Appearance Due To “Overwhelming” Ticket Sales
Nicki Minaj stans who were hoping to get a glimpse of their idol after her Saturday Night Liveperformance in New York City aren’t going to see her in the strip club.
The promoter for the party told The Blast that the “Barbie Tingz” rapper was originally supposed to host an SNL after-party at the legendary Scores strip club in the Chelsea district, but when the ticket sales became “overwhelming,” the party was moved over to the Highline Ballroom, an upscale live-music venue on the border of the Chelsea district and the West Village.
In contrast to Scores, which only has a capacity of a few hundred people, the Highline Ballroom can hold up to 700 people.
And even though fans are hopeful she’ll use the Highline Ballroom opportunity to get on stage and perform a few songs, she’s not contractually obligated to do so. She’ll be hosting the party, while DJ Clue and DJ Reach provide the tunes.
Tickets for the event are available now, and their prices start at $40 for women and $60 for men. The table next to Minaj costs $20,100 per ticket.
Anyone who purchased a ticket for the Scores event will have their ticket honored by the Highline Ballroom.
Lil Baby is a relatively unknown commodity at this point, but his new project Harder Than Ever seems poised to change the perception.
The Quality Control artist’s new release is stacked with high-profile guests, including Drake, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Offset and Starlito. Production comes from heavy hitters such as Southside, Wheezy and Earl The Pearll.

Drake Spotted Walking The Streets Of Toronto With A Potential New Bae
Drake might have himself a new girl.
If they are together, then Drake is really doing well for himself. If they aren’t, it’s not clear what exactly they’re doing together. While they don’t seem especially close in the video or the pictures they have together, it’s not like he’s trying to keep the two of them being together a secret. Drake is media savvy enough to know what kind of reaction pictures like these will generate, so maybe he’s playing some kind of long con.
Or this is all just overthinking it, and Drake found himself a new bae before his next album drops in June. What do you think of Drake and Malaika together? Do you think he could do better? Check out the two of them walking down the street together below.

Anderson .Paak Debuts “Bubblin'” & Says Dr. Dre Is Taking Him To “The Next Level”
It’s been roughly a year and a half since Anderson .Paak dropped an album but he’s finally jumping back in the mix with a new track titled “Bubblin’,” the follow-up to “Til It’s Over.”
The Yes Lawd! artist sat down with Zane Lowe at Beats 1 Radio to chop it up about collaborating with Dr. Dre at Aftermath Records and what “Bubblin’” means to him.
“’Bubblin’’ is just a whole lot of fun,” .Paak explains. “I had the beat from Jhalil Beats and Antman Wonder. Jhalil sent me a pack of beats, you know 50, 60 beats. I loved them all. I was just writing to all these beats and that was one of them that I just loved off top.”
“It sounded like some black 007 action adventure high speed chase type of music. Originally I was trying to get Lil Sims to rap on it first because she was in the studio too. I remember trying to get other people on it, then eventually I just wrote on it. It took me a couple of days. I did it. I started it in L.A. and I finished it in New York. And it was just one of them ones. It gets the energy going, gets the blood going.”
After releasing Yes Lawd! on Stones Throw Records with producer Knxwledge as NxWorries,.Paak made the jump to Aftermath Records after working with Dre for several years. He’s been absorbing as much as he can from the pioneering Hip Hop mogul.
“He’s got a whole lot of trust in me,” he explains. “He let me just run free. He told me just do your thang. I would love to be a part of it. He told me, do I have to be part of it, no, but I really want to be. I was like you’re definitely going to be a part of this, bro. And we’ve just been going back and forth with this music man for over two years now and just getting the right album that we really feel proud of.
“He’s been very instrumental to taking it to the next level. That’s the whole point when you’re working with a really good producer, you let them produce. It’s dope, we got a lot of mutual respect for each other. He’s in there producing beats. He’s in there producing melodies, writing, ideas on sequencing, everything. Just the biggest help just having him as the filter, everything. It’s like whatever we need. Ideas for the videos, all that. We breaking everything down with the big homie.”

Jennifer Lopez Recruits Cardi B & DJ Khaled For “Dinero”
Nearly 20 years after Jennifer Lopez declared that “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” the Bronx singer/actress is now about her “Dinero” on her latest record.
On the newly released “Dinero,” J.Lo enlisted the help of two current colossal figures in music: Cardi B and DJ Khaled.
Heavily Latin-influenced, Lopez switches between English and Spanish as she sings her way through “Dinero.” The self-proclaimed Trap Selena then rounds out the track with a bouncy verse, rapping, “Two bad bitches that came from the Bronx/ Cardi from the pole and Jenny from the block.”
In an Instagram post uploaded prior to Thursday’s (May 17) release of “Dinero,” Lopez revealed that the music video for the record is dropping soon.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bi1pQNal2gH/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=8&wp=625&rd=hiphopdx.com#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1235.8000000240281%7DWith the Bronx chanteuse reportedly set to release a Spanish-language album, “Dinero” could serve as one of the songs featured on the project.
Lopez is also scheduled to perform at the Billboard Music Awards, which air this Sunday (May 20).
Wale Signs New Deal With Warner Bros. Records
LOS ANGELES, CA – After a string of consistent project releases, Wale has formally found himself a new home at Warner Bros.
“I felt their passion, commitment, and enthusiasm from day one,” he said in an exclusive statement to Complex. The signing comes just months after he — from what is known — amicably split from Atlantic, with whom he’d spent six years.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bi2DL32nvn_/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=8&wp=625&rd=hiphopdx.com#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1627.9999999678694%7DHe alluded to the situation on a song titled “Negotiations,” which appeared on his second of two 2018 EPs, Self Promotion. “Yeah, mind racin’/Negotiatin’ my situation/I burned bridges I can’t repair, so been fly lately,” he rapped.
On the same song, he also references what may have been parting words between himself and the label. “I’m I’m bad business, the rap industry thinks I’m crazy … the gatekeepers, they hate me say I’m militant,” he raps.
His fallout with Atlantic seemed to be written on the wall, amid poor/declining album sales — with Shine moving just a little more than 25k units in its first week.
For a label that counts acts streaming behemoths like Bhad Bhabie to its roster, numbers like that spell flop in capital letters. Combine that with beef and what many have seen as a poor attitude, and the rapper began to look like a liability.
Still, Wale has been able to keep his sales consistent and live dates in support of the album remained packed.
With two extremely promising EPs thus far in 2018 and a very respectable catalog in his name, Warner Bros. clearly sees the vision. Label co-chairman Tom Corson proclaimed Wale to be a “pillar in the hip-hop community and beyond,” in a statement. “Wale is truly a force to be reckoned with, and we look forward to a successful partnership for years to come,” he added.
“They believed in my vision wholeheartedly, and I am ready to show and prove,” Wale says. He joins like DVSN, Mac Miller, PartyNextDoor, and recent Warner Bros. signee Lil Pump.
A new album is expected later this year.
J. Cole’s “KOD” Album Certified Gold
As of Monday (May 14), J. Cole’s recently released KOD album has been certified gold by the RIAA, which means the album has sold over 500,000 equivalent units.
The accomplishment comes less than a month after Cole dropped KOD on April 20.
In its first week, KOD moved 396,628 album-equivalent units, which was the biggest sales week of 2018 at the time.
In addition to its gold status, KOD debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release — Cole’s fifth consecutive project to hit the top spot. After three weeks, the album is currently in the #2 spot on the chart.
KOD also broke a Spotify opening day record with 4.2 million streams in its first day, although Post Malone’s Beerbongs and Bentleys surpassed it shortly after.
This latest news surrounding Cole comes days after he announced his KOD Tour with Young Thug, which is scheduled to kick off in Miami on August 9. The tour will go on to make stops in Boston, Detroit, Nashville, Las Vegas and more.
Donald Glover’s “This Is America” Choreographer Shares Dance Tutorial & Influences
In celebration of Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” music video reaching a staggering 100 million YouTube views, the video’s choreographer Sherrie Silver has shared a step-by-step tutorial for the choreography.
“As promised, when we hit 100 million views, I promised I’d drop the tutorial,” Silver says at the start of the video. (As of last check, the video had passed 128 million and was still rapidly rising).
In the nearly seven-minute video, the 23-year-old Silver provides tutorials on the South African Gwara Gwara, another dance originating in the Ivory Coast, and several other moves.
Silver previously spoke with Glamour magazine about her work on the much-discussed video.
Given that several dances in the “This Is America” visual are of African origin, Silver spoke on the importance of highlighting their history as she teaches them.
“As I said, I don’t believe in just teaching a dance. I believe in teaching where it comes from as well,” she explained.
T.I. Brushes Off Public Drunkenness Arrest As “Small Potatoes”
T.I. has run into trouble with the law yet again. According to AP News, he was arrested outside of his gated community in Henry County, Georgia around 4:30 a.m. on May 16 for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and simple assault.
He addressed the arrest on his Instagram Live, brushing it off as “small potatoes.”
According to TMZ, T.I. and a friend attempted to enter the gated community without a key, causing an argument with the guard. Once they were allowed in, T.I. returned to continue their disagreement. At this point, cops were called in and arrested T.I. and his friend. The guard said he wasn’t physically attacked but feared that he might get hit, which is enough to constitute simple assault in Georgia.
AJC reports that T.I. has paid a $2,250 bond and has been released. His friend remains behind bars for an outstanding warrant.
Man Sues Cardi B & Offset Over Post-Met Gala Beatdown
Giovanni Arnold, the plaintiff in the lawsuit, was captured on video hounding Cardi for an autograph before an altercation took place on May 8. Footage showed him on the ground being attacked by multiple people after he taunted Cardi and Offset, who denied his autograph request.
According to TMZ, Arnold claims Cardi told him, “Fuck outta here nigga, I will slap the shit out of you” outside The Mark Hotel in New York. Offset allegedly told him, “Shut up, bro, before a nigga beat you out here.”
The lawsuit, which was filed by attorney Daniel Szalkiewicz, says three of the Hip Hop power couple’s bodyguards attacked Arnold after he tried to de-escalate the situation. Video of the incident appears to contradict his assertion though. In the clip, he can be heard saying, “I’ll take all your money, bro. Please beat me up. Please brother. Please be a fool.”
Arnold was taken to the hospital following the altercation. He claims to have suffered injuries to his face, back, neck and body.
(The previous version of this article was published on May 9, 2018 and can found below.)
Though everyone saw the up-close-and-personal footage of the beatdown of an autograph seeker outside a post-Met Gala 2018 party earlier this week, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper is claiming ignorance — and feigning blindness.
“I’m legally bliiiiiind,” she sings for the TMZ camera. “I’m legally blind, sir.”
A member of her entourage can then be seen shooing the cameraman away, asking him to “leave her alone” because she’s a “pregnant lady” who worked “really hard” today.
The initial reports about Giovanni Arnold, a professional autograph seeker, suggested that Cardi B’s security gave him an unprovoked beatdown after he requested a signature from the Bronx native.
Later, however, the reality seemed to be very different: a longer video shows Arnold heckling Offset after being refused autographs and begging him to “beat him up” — an offer some apparent Migos affiliates eventually obliged.
The New York Daily News also reports Arnold will likely file a lawsuit.
“Our client was beaten to a pulp for requesting an autograph,” said attorney Daniel Szalkiewicz. “Our client was held in the hospital overnight for observation. The videos clearly show this was not an act of self-defense. The assailants fled the scene to avoid being arrested for their savage attack. “No fan should ever be treated in this manner, and words never justify violence.”

It was revealed earlier in the year that the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) was spending up to $22,000 a day on bottled water to combat the water crisis in Flint. The whole situation first came to light in 2014 when the city decided to cut costs by relying on the Flint River rather than the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department for its water supply. The water failed to be properly treated, pulling lead from the city’s pipes, exposing the population to the metal.
Flint spent millions of dollars upgrading the city’s infrastructure and switched back to the Detroit water supply, and while the MDEQ ruled that the water had dropped below the federal lead limit, tests at some of the city’s schools revealed that lead results were still above the federal limit. The city’s schools have not used tap water since 2015 and continue to provide students with bottled water.

Stream Kevin Gates’ Surprise EP “Chained To The City”
He’s back! Kevin Gates releases a new 3-song EP called “Chained To The City.”
Even though Kevin Gates is a free man right now, he hasn’t been able to leave the state of Illinois yet due to a strict travel ban that was put on him. So as a result, he hasn’t been able to see his family and it’s messing with his paper as he’s been forced to cancel a ton of his shows as well. Trying to move on from it though, Gates has been teasing new music on his Instagram page over the past few days, alluding to a new project possibly being on the way, and it turns out the assumption was right. With the clock striking midnight on Wednesday, Gates decided to surprise fans with a new EP called Chained to The City.
Laced with only 3 songs, the follow up to last year’s By Any Means 2 contains tracks like “Change Lanes,” “Vouch,” & “Let It Sing,” which all address his recent incarceration & current no-travel ban despite being a “free man.” It serves as first official release since getting out of jail back in January.
Available now on iTunes, fans can stream the project for free thanks to the good folks at Spotify. Take a listen and let us know what you think.

Jay Rock Drops “Win” Single During Championship Tour Spree
LOS ANGELES, CA – Top Dawg Entertainment’s Championship Tour is in full effect and as the team currently burns up Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jay Rock has unleashed a new single by the name of “Win” to get his 2018 album campaign underway. A few weeks ago, TDE CEO Anthony Tiffifth hinted that a new project was in the making (and even an Interscope signing) and the latest record appears to be the first official taste of the upcoming full composition.
The TDE point guard’s last complete project arrived in the form 2015’s 90059.
“For those who been waiting I appreciate yo patience #TDE,” Rock assured his fans on Instagram, adding the song’s lyrics “u either with me or against me hoe” to the caption.
The record also features subtle background vocals from Kendrick Lamar, who collaborated with his longtime friend on Black Panther: The Album via the single, “King’s Dead.”

Kanye West Reveals Potential Tracklists For Nas, Pusha T & Kid Cudi Albums
Kanye West has been relatively quiet on social media since making the trek back to Wyoming finish several albums he’s set to deliver this year.
In a video uploaded to Twitter on Tuesday (May 15), ‘Ye shares what looks like partial tracklists to multiple projects, including his solo album, the Kids See Ghost collaboration with Kid Cudi, Nas’ upcoming LP and Pusha T’s record.
During the 25-second clip, we only see the back of West as he nods his head along to the beat and notes he’s playing on the keyboard in front of him. But the dry erase boards in the background are more intriguing.
Under the “YE” column for his solo album, which is expected to arrive on June 1, he has “Extacy” and “Wouldn’t Leave.” Under the “KIDS” column, he has seven tracks listed, including “Feel The Love” and “Ghost Town.”
To the far right, under the “PUSH” column, it lists titles such as “How Do You Respond” and “Sociopath,” while the “NAS” column has the word “Everything” written underneath it.

He was booked for aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat.

According to NorthJersey.com, Fab punched the former Love & Hip Hop star seven times in the face, “causing severe damage to her two front teeth,” which led to their removal. He then threatened her father and brother, saying he “had a bullet” for them.
The couple was reportedly spotted at Coachella roughly a month later.

Kevin Gates Solidifies Jail Comeback With 3-Song “Chained To The City” EP
Just mere days after previewing new music on his Instagram page, Kevin Gates has released his first batch of music since being released from prison in the form of the Chained To The CityEP.
The three-song project includes the opener “Change Lanes,” which was streamed on Instagram and “Vouch,” where the Baton Rouge native vents about Cash Money not signing him during his come up days.
Chained To The City marks the first Gates project since September 2017’s By Any Means 2, which was released during his nine-month prison bid for a well-documented battery charge.
And fans should probably anticipate more music dropping from his stationary position. He missed out on the epic Rolling Loud 2018 Festival due to his travel limitations as a result of his probation.
But as all the intangibles sort themselves out, the Chained To The City EP can be streamed below.
Desiigner Details Origins Of His Adlibs & Hypes “Ocean’s 8” Cameo
In today’s Hip Hop landscape, only a select few artists have earned the fan loyalty that allows them to put out one album a year and stay in listeners’ collective psyches. For everyone else, being prolific is a necessary component of relevance.
For 21-year-old Desiigner, hits like “Panda” and “Timmy Turner” set him on course for A-list status. Then, as it often does, life threw a wrench in the whole plan. His father was dianosed with cancer, which hit the pause button on making music.
As his pops progressed with treatments, Desiigner hit the road with Steve Aoki, whose father also battled cancer. The two forged a bond and when they came off tour, the G.O.O.D. Music artists was blessed with some great news.
“I owe a lot to Steve Aoki for just keeping my spirit going,” Desiigner told HipHopDX at his EP release party in Los Angeles. “He told me about his father and how his father had passed away from it so we really was bonding while we were on tour together. We were just praying for pops and after the tour, he wound up beating the cancer. It definitely made me appreciate life more and appreciate time more just knowing that time is my only competition.”
More than two years after his breakthrough single “Panda” was released, Desiigner finally dropped his debut EP L.O.D. and is now prepping a full-length album titled Sidney. A lot has changed since the Bed-Stuy native burst onto the scene. There’s been an influx of pharmaceutical mascots and an abundance of face tattoos.
New York’s latest sensation, Tekashi 6ix9ine, is already claiming the city’s crown. Desiigner is cool with the current landscape though and says the people ultimately determine who’s the top dog.
“[The fans] know what time it is,” he said. “I done sold 15 million, I done did what I’m doing. Let [6ix9ine] do him. Y’all know what time it is. The supporters are gonna show who [the King of N.Y.] is. He got his supporters, he’s in his own world. Me and him don’t make the same type of music but let him do him. He bigging his self up. He got nice inspiration.”
One thing that hasn’t changed for Desiigner is his adlibs. His ability to roll his “R’s” is something he developed as a child and remains prevalent in his music, as heard on L.O.D.
“It was all in school man,” he recalled. “I remember in school my homeboys used to ask me how I rolled my tongue. It was in third grade. I used to [roll my tongue] and then as time went on, everybody started asking me ‘How you do that shit?’ And I just wound up putting it in my music and intertwining it in my stories of us growing up.
“Coming from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, you hear gunshots and all that, so I just give it that feeling and give it that ‘rrrrrrr-ah.’ So when you feel that and you feel the drums and you feel the cadence, you feel everything and it becomes a part of the music as an instrument. I use it more as an instrument now.”
With such a big personality, Desiigner isn’t limiting himself to music. In fact, his break into Hollywood is coming in the form of one of the most star-studded films of the year.
“I’m in Ocean’s 8 coming up,” he noted. “I can’t talk too much about the part, but I’m in Ocean’s 8. Big movies. I’m making moves in all areas of the entertainment business, fashion world, real estate, everything. I’m growing up. 21st birthday just passed. You’re watching Desiigner grow and become a man. L.O.D. out now. Make sure y’all run that now. Make sure y’all go crazy on that. Sidney coming out real soon.”

3. Ty Dolla $ign Feat. 21 Savage – Clout
This past Friday, Ty Dolla $ign continued his excellent track record of album re-releaes with a new version of Beach House 3 that added some excellent bonus tracks onto the original tracklist. One of them is the 21 Savage-assisted “Clout,” which arrived before the album’s re-release and debuts at #3.
2. Royce Da 5’9″ Feat. Logic & King Green – Caterpillar (Remix)
Appearing in the #2 slot lat week was “Caterpillar,” a track from Royce’s new album Book Of Ryan that featured a surprise appearance from Eminem. Appearing in the exact same slot this week is a remix of the track featuring none other than Logic, who was rumored to be on the original. This version debuts at #2.
Featuring a very intriguing trio of rappers, “My Peak” arrived last week with little other info of its origin or placement on future projects. Somewhat unsurprisingly, it’s been taken down since. People have clearly been looking for it though, as it debuts at #1. Good luck hunting.

Bellator President Says 50 Cent Has A “New Album Dropping In About 6 Weeks”
50 Cent could be releasing a new album in 6 weeks according to Bellator President.
Over the past few days, rumors have been starting pick up momentum that 50 Cent could be trying to get a deal done with Bellator MMA to possibly get in the ring to fight. Many photos of 50 Cent & Ballator President, Scott Coker, have been surfacing online over the past couple weeks, with Fif even alluding to the rumor himself over the weekend, “if we can get this right, it would be big” he tweeted out.
Well following Saturday night’s fight, Bellator President was participating in a press conference where he spilled the news that 50 Cent is releasing a new album in about 6 six weeks.
“Yeah, he’s got a new album dropping in about six weeks,” Coker said when asked about his possible deal with 50 Cent. “It’s like, look, he loves MMA. And when a big star like that loves MMA and wants to be involved, it just makes a lot of sense. And he wanted to come and check it out. This was his first time to a Bellator fight,” he added.
Its unclear if Coker was just joking about the album release or if he knows something we don’t, but he definitely said it and would know right now.
Check out Coker’s comments around the 5:50 mark (below) and sound off in the comments. Are you even wanting to hear new music from 50 Cent?
Rihanna’s Home Intruder Charged With Felony Stalking & Burglary
The man who broke into Rihanna’s home last week is facing 3 felony charges.
In case you missed it, Rihanna’s Los Angeles home was broken into & burglarized last week by a man stalker who was hiding in her home for at least an entire day. The man was only found after cops were alerted by an notification that triggered the alarm. He even had the audacity to tell police he just wanted to have sex with the pop singer, and not rape her. However thankfully Rihanna was not home at the time of the break-in and no harm was done. The man of course was eventually arrested inside her home after being tasered and is now facing 3 felony charges.
According to TMZ, 26 year-old Eduardo Leon was set to face a judge Monday afternoon in L.A., but before he even could arrive to court, he was charged with stalking, burglary and vandalism, all three of which are felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest as well.
To make matters worse, Leon allegedly broke into another home a week earlier, thinking it was Rihanna’s. He was booked for residential burglary and trespassing for that as well, before getting out.
This all comes while Rihanna is in the midst of launching her sexy new Fenty lingerie line, which has caused a lot of frustration on the side of fans. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Ri-Ri moving forward.
Desiigner Says He Has Something Coming Soon With Kid Cudi
Desiigner and Kid Cudi have new music on the way.
Even though Desiigner’s newly-released Life Of Desiigner project is still fresh in rotation, the G.O.O.D Music rapper is already giving his fans something else to look forward to. During a recent interview on Power 106 LA, the Brooklyn rapper was asked about the upcoming music from G.O.O.D Music & himself, to which he spilled the news that he’s got new music with Kid Cudi on the way.
After mentioning Cudi & Ye’s joint project being on the way, Desiigner said he had a special something for fans with Kid Cudi, alluding to a new track (maybe project?) coming soon.
“And I got something coming soon with my brother Cudi so. You know what time is it,” the Brooklyn rapper said. He didn’t clarify anything further about the presumed collaboration, but one might guess Desiigner is being featured on a Kid Cudi song, possibly off the Ye project or another random single?
Check out the clip of Desiigner talking about his Kid Cudi collab (below) specifically around the 1:45 mark. While you’re at it, be sure to check out out new interview with the man himself right here, where he reveals his favorite cartoons & admits his crush on “Kim Possible.”
