Jeezy plans to wrap up his storied career with one final album. On Thursday (March 22), the Snowman revealed his next LP, TM 104, will be his last.

“As the Cold Summer tour comes to a end.. It was inspiring seeing my day one fans since my first album & class TM 101 come out every night,” he wrote on Twitter. “Now class is coming to a end. It’s time for Graduation! My Last Album & Final Class: TM104 -#TrustYaProcess.”

Bundles for Jeezy’s TM 104 are already available for pre-order at his online shop. No additional details about the LP have been announced at this time.

TM 104 will not only be his last album but also the final edition of his Thug Motivation series. The first entry in the series, 2005’s Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, was his major label debut. The LP was a breakthrough release for Jeezy, peaking at #2 on the Billboard 200 and spawning multiple Hot 100 singles.

Jeezy’s most recent album, Pressure, was released in December 2017. The LP is the lowest charting release of his major label run, peaking at #6 on Billboard 200. All of his previous albums for Def Jam Recordings cracked the Top 5.

A Tribe Called Quest Won't Settle For Grammy's "Consolation Prize"

NEW YORK, NY – When the nominations for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards were unveiled last year, A Tribe Called Quest was noticeably absent from the list. Subsequently, ATCQ’s de facto leader Q-Tip went on an epic Instagram rant blasting the Recording Academy for what he deemed a massive oversight.

On Tuesday (March 13), founding ATCQ member Ali Shaheed Muhammad and longtime collaborator Consequence stopped by Sway In The Morning, where they talked about the snub heard around the Hip Hop world.

In particular, the tenured artists responded to comments made by Grammys Chair Emeritus Jimmy Jam, who suggested ATCQ’s performance at the Grammys last year was “just as relevant” as getting an actual nomination.

“I respect [Jimmy Jam] so much for what he’s done for music but to default to say that the group performed and that should be your consolation prize I think is very disrespectful to the art you put forward,” Ali says.

Consequence adds “I respect the OG, but let’s put this into perspective – Malik Phife Dawg Mutty Ranks Don Juice Taylor – that was his last effort on Earth. I want you to understand the magnitude of that. It’s easy for someone to minimalize something, and I don’t take it as I don’t like him for saying that, but it’s easy to minimalize and categorize.”

From there, Consequence didn’t hold back.

“That’s the same reason why Craig Mack is just now getting his roses,” he said. “What happens so many times with black people is that we come up with notions why other brothers and sisters shouldn’t be celebrated. Ain’t no notion for that shit, they fucked up. Anybody come back 18 years after a hiatus and perform the year before – naturally, you’d assume, ‘Aye, I should have something on my mantle in 12 months.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cons and Ali touched on the new Billionaire Boys Club collabwith Pharrell and “The Space Program” video, which serves as the last visual from 2016’s We got it from Here … Thank You 4 Your service. The group shared a teaser of the video on Tuesday (March 13), however, there is no official release date as of yet.

JAY-Z Is Now The World’s Richest Rapper

JAY-Z has dethroned Diddy as Hip Hop’s richest player, according to Forbes’ 2018 List Of Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artists. Whereas last year (and every year since the list’s inception in 2011), the Bad Boy Founder ranked first, this year Hov takes the lead with a $900 million fortune.

Aside from his music, JAY-Z’s immense wealth comes from his stakes in Roc Nation, TIDAL, and his liquor brands, Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac.

Diddy still follows closely with $825 million, and celebrated #blackexcellence with an Instagram post that went up after the report dropped.

Dr. Dre finds himself in the No. 3 spot again, but with a net worth of $770 million, up from last year’s $740 million. It’s expected that his fortune will grow substantially in the next year, once his Apple stock is vested.

Rounding out the Forbes Five list are Drake and Eminem, tied at $100 million. Last year, Drake was behind Birdman with a $90 million fortune. Drizzy owns several estates, on top of having earned more than $250 million since 2010.

Next, while Eminem isn’t typically regarded as a mogul, he is the best selling artist (across any genre) of the 2000s, and profits from his 2017 Revival release brings him into the Top 5. He recently became the RIAA’s second-highest selling singles artist of all time.

Forbes calculates the rankings based on an analysis of candidates’ major assets, and enlists analysts, attorneys, managers and other key team members to gather the information.

(The original version of this article was published on March 1, 2018 at 2:57 p.m. PST and can be found below.)

Phonte has announced his long-promised sophomore album No News Is Good News will finally see the light of day, seven years following the release of his solo debut Charity Starts At Home.  The LP, which was first announced nearly two years ago, is slated to drop at midnight.

In an interview with HipHopDX in June 2016, he originally targeted for a September 30, 2016 release date.

He originally attributed the delay to the immense amount of things on his plate, including his touring schedule with The Foreign Exchange as well as his role in VH1’s The Breaks as the pro-black battle rap character Imam Ali. On top of that, Phonte released Tigallerro, a collaborative project with singer Eric Roberson, in 2016.

When discussing the album with WatchLoud in July 2016, he noted how different the approach would be from his debut. “I didn’t want to write over the course of a year or two,” he explained. “This project will be a lot more immediate, with song banged out in a short, concentrated burst.”

Common Reveals What His Break Up With Erykah Badu Taught Him

BOULDER, CO – Neo-soul goddess Erykah Badu and Hip Hop luminary Common dated from 2000 to 2002. After they broke up, Common did some soul-searching and realized there was something strange about the way he behaved during that time. During a speech at The University of Colorado-Boulder last month, the Chi-Town legend explained what he learned from Badu.

“I discovered I didn’t truly believe in myself wholeheartedly with every morsel that I had in my body and I discovered that through a breakup,” he told a packed crowd. “I was in a relationship with Erykah Badu. When we did break up, one of the most important things I discovered was that I was scared to wear my greatness. I was afraid to wear my greatness, which meant, I could be in a relationship and dim my light for others.”

“I could be around other artists and dim my light for others,” he continued. “I could get around my parents and dim my light. I could get around friends who I felt like I might make them uncomfortable ’cause I was doing something that they hadn’t maybe achieved yet or they weren’t happy with the way they were so, I would dim my light for others.”

While Common nursed his broken heart, he began to read books about self-exploration and came to a life-changing conclusion.

“I learned that you can never dim your light,” he said. “Your light is created for you to be in this world and put that light up on a lamp stand so that anyone who walks into that roomwill see that light. We dim our light for so many reasons. Sometimes we dim our light, most importantly, because we don’t truly believe in that light.

“Well, as I started to discover that I didn’t believe in my path, even though I found my path, I started to work on myself. I started to work. And that took like, me sittin’ down reading books that fed me. That meant goin’ out listening and having conversations with people — intelligent people. That meant be able to listen in conversations. I started to pray and meditate more. Waking up in the morning, saying the things that I wanted. Declaring what I wanted. Believin’ it and speakin’ it till I started believe in it more and more. And one of the powerful things that happened, the more you believe, the more you start to surround yourself with people who believe.”

Later in the talk, the Academy Award-winning actor/musician recalled receiving five Grammy nominations for his work on 2006’s Be. During the 48th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, he watched his “They Say” collaborator Kanye West win three Grammys for Late Registration, while Common walked away with nothing.

“Kanye is there with his mother Dr. Donda West, John Legend was there with his mother and I’m there with my mother,” he explained. “On the way to the Grammys, they announced two of my awards that I was up for. I didn’t win those two. So I’m like, ‘Cool, I got three speeches and three Grammys, I’m good.’ It’s a beautiful night. John Legend wins, Kanye wins a couple. They announce two more of the awards I was up for, and I didn’t get those two. I’m like, ‘Damn, I’m about to cram all my speech into one.’ Ludacris comes out to announce Best Hip Hop Album. I’m like, this is serendipitous because Ludacris has been a guy who had told me, ‘Man you influenced me as a Hip Hop artist.’

“I was like, ‘This worked out. It’s cool. So, Ludacris comes out and Kayne turns around to me and says, ‘Yeah, you got this one.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah I got this one.’ Ludacris opens the envelope, and I see the joy and I was like, ‘Thank God!’ He opens it up and says, ‘Yo, y’all give it up for my man Kanye West.’ So I’m standing up clapping. I got that little smile on my face when I’m really hurtin’ but you know, I’m happy for my man, but I’m like, ‘I didn’t get one award?’ I really believed that I was going to get those Grammys.”

He was taught a tough lesson that night.

“Believing in your path is only the second step to greatness,” he said. “Living your path is the completion of it.”

Common, who had already won a Grammy in 2003 in the Best R&B Song category for Badu’s “Love Of My Life (An Ode To Hip Hop),” went on to win two more Grammys in subsequent years. He’s up for an Academy Award this year for “Stand Up For Something” featuring Diane Warren.

If he wins, it will mark his second Oscar. At the 2015 Academy Awards, Common won in the Best Original Song category for his work on “Glory” with John Legend.

The 90th Annual Academy Awards air on Sunday (March 4).

A Tribe Called Quest Set To Make A “Major Announcement” On Monday

As time goes by, hip-hop greats tend to become greater. The past two years have been pretty eventful for the legendary hip-hop collective, A Tribe Called Quest. In the first quarter of 2016, the group’s lead emcee, Phife Dawg unexpectedly passed away from complications tied to diabetes, sending the entire hip-hop community into a vague mourning. Later that year, ATCQ dropped their sixth studio album We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service (introduced as their final album) which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and the team also launched a streetwear brand back in November of last year that honors Tribe’s signature visually artistic emblems.

Yesterday (Mar. 2), the official Instagram account for the classic Queens collective shared a vintage photo of members Phife Dawg, Q-TipAli Shaheed Muhammad with a caption announcing the coming of a “major announcement” followed by recognition of their great fallen tongue Phife in hashtag form. “Major @atcq Announcement on Monday. Stay Tuned… #TheQuestIsOn#RIPPhifeDawg #WeLoveYouTRIBE.”

ATCQ’s own Jarobi White is not willing to spill the beans on whats to come, but promises that whatever it is, will be satisfying. The emcee turned chef told HipHopDX, “No spoilers like Black Panther. You know how good we are about keeping [our] secrets. It’s ill though!”

Speculations are circling around the possibilities of the “major announcement,” one of them being the release of the solo album Phife completed before he passed away. Another presumption Tribe fans are running with is the release of a new Tribe album, despite the group claiming their last effort, their final one. The only thing that can calm these wonders is Monday.

Watch Janelle Monáe’s Stunning New Videos for “Django Jane” & “Make Me Feel”

reference :

Last week, Janelle Monáe announced that she was gearing up to release Dirty Computer, her first new album in five years. The singer announced the project by releasing a snazzy new trailer featuring Tessa Thompson.

Now the singer has just released the first two singles from the album.

The songs are “Django Jane,” which is literally a rap song, and “Make Me Feel,” which is a more traditional R&B song. With the release of the songs, Monae also dropped vides for each song.

The “Django Jane” video showcases Monae’s more aggressive side, while the video for “Make Me Feel” features a sensual Monae.

On Thursday, Janelle appeared on Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1 on Apple Music. She talked about why it took so long for this album to come:

“You know I always knew that I had to make this album. I actually had this title on this concept before my first album The ArchAndriod and it scared me because a lot of the things that I knew that I needed to say were very deep, very personal, from the heart. You know this is an extremely vulnerable album and it took me a while to make it because I’m a self editor. I self edit myself a lot. I’m like I don’t want to talk about this, I don’t want to talk about that. I had to kind of have people at Wonderland on my team to hold me accountable to it. They were like OK, you said you wanted to make this album before your first album, this is the opportunity for you to just really choose honesty over mystery. I know that there are a lot of things that I haven’t discussed and I think this is the album that you’ll get an opportunity to get a closer glimpse into my mind and into my heart.”

Common, Robert Glasper & Karriem Riggins Release Their Second ‘August Greene’ Single, “Black Kennedy”

Common, Robert Glasper & Karriem Riggins Release Their Second ‘August Greene’ Single, “Black Kennedy”

These award winning brothas, Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins, connect once again as August Greene for their second single, “Black Kennedy”.

Between these three artists—CommonRobert Glasper and Karriem Riggins—gold and awards just happen to follow them wherever they go. After years of collaborating and creating, this talented trio decided to join forces as the group August Greene.

Titled “Black Kennedy,” August Greene talks that revolutionary talk over smooth’d out production. As longtime friends, this triple threat dynamo (actor, musician and producer) felt that now was the time to release this music as a group. Themes such as optimism and black excellence are meant to imbue black people with a sense of pride and awareness.

Last week, the band released a video for their first effort, “Optimism,” which featured Brandy and was filmed in Jackson, Mississippi during Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Together, August Greene has found a sound that breaks the mold, shatters it completely and create a flame-inducing movement in its place.

August Greene’s debut self-titled album will be released on March 9th via Amazon Original.

Review: Migos’ “Culture II” Is An Unfocused, Unworthy Sequel To The Original

Never will there be a socially accepted pity party to pacify the plight of a superstar. Still, all the riches and success often ignore the effort it takes to maintain that notoriety at the top of the food chain. Eminem recently showed a legend’s vulnerability on his quest to please varying audiences through his latest LP, resulting in his lowest received album of his career. And despite having a legacy that single-handedly altered the DNA of both Hip Hop and R&B, Drake will forever be blemished by the moment he had to admit he uses individuals “to spark” ideas, a sugar-coated phrase for ghostwriting.

And now it’s Migos — who’ve enjoyed the past 365 days and some change — eclipsing career milestones. Thanks to their Billboard-topping Culture album + “Bad and Boujee” package deal that brought forth mainstream crossover ubiquity and more paid appearances than a former U.S. president — who are feeling the pressure to stay scorching. Culture II arrives a full year after its predecessor in obvious efforts to duplicate the massive status bump but the tight-knit trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff instead pull a 180° and drop off a thumb drive of songs that completely undermines their self-proclaimed “biggest group ever” title.

That’s not to say the first Culture installment was the trap genre’s answer to The Police’s Synchronicity; an impenetrable hit-laden classic that simply calls for a curtain call. Yet, between the aforementioned “Bad and Boujee” and other all-inclusive catchiness like “T-Shirt” and “Slippery,” the group easily joined the ranks of rap’s upper echelon. But Migos appear to have overlooked the time and dedication it takes to create a sound body of work. The past year has seen Quavo rise as a leading guest feature, event host and budding TV star while Offset has given Instagram followers real deal Love & Hip Hop episodes through his relationship with Cardi B. The cousins also extended their rapping talents into adjacent 2017 projects (with Travis Scott and 21 Savage, respectively) and their stretched dedication sets the stage for the generally unassuming Takeoff to easily outshine his Migos brethren all throughout Culture II.

The sheer incredulity alone of trying to pass off 24 new records as “quality control” is insulting as virtually every song title serves as the chorus with the assembly treatment. On the failed buzz single, “Supastars,” Quavo croons “Supastars, supastars, supastars out” atop a smattering of whizzing 8-bit Nintendo sound effects, and the anticipated Drake feature, “Walk It Talk It” is deflated by the Migos’ leader’s stilted delivery of “Walk it like I talk it (walk it)/Walk it like I talk it,” thrown on the blender’s highest setting. This coming from someone who’s been responsible for some of rap’s biggest sing-a-long moments in the past couple of years.

Migos Drop Culture 2

In fact, Quavo’s lack of highlights throughout the album’s 100+ minute duration isn’t limited to wack hooks. His bars this time around are ripe with Bill Walton-level sports commentary (“Shoot like I play for the Duke”; “Catch a Babe Ruth/The bat I batted the bat”; “Look at my muscles/MVP the whole game/Quavo Russell.”)

The creativity scrapes the bottom of the barrel on “Too Much Jewelry,” which, as the song title indicates, finds Zaytoven’s space-age production being wasted with four minutes explaining the afflicted lifestyle of owning more ice than the polar caps.

While the bulk of the songs can’t disguise their rush-job origins, tinges of Trap Boy Magic do spring up from time to time. Wedged near the end of the elongated tracklist, surprisingly pure “Made Men” officially marks the ATLiens’ venture into traditional Hip Hop territory. Although it was billed as a precursor for greater things to come, “Motorsport” — a Hemi engine of trap powered by both unleaded testosterone and estrogen (the latter delivered by Nicki Minaj and Cardi B) is the project’s most sturdy pillar and indicates Migos didn’t exactly lose their talent as much as their focus.

A close second arrives in the form of “Stir Fry,” an energetic rocker that finds Pharrell continuing with the buoyancy displayed all through N.E.R.D.’s last album. All three Migos deliver enthusiastic commercial-ready performances — as in perfect for any streaming service or home studio TV spot. Regardless, the few bright moments still alleviate the task of having to comb through radio reaches like the sugary “Gang Gang,” the boring “Bad + Boujee” clone “Beast,” or “White Sand,” where Travis Scott, Big Sean and Ty Dolla Sign hit the beach to simply squander studio time.

It should probably matter more that Culture II is a dud, but in today’s feeding frenzy musical climate, its lack of cohesion won’t prevent concertgoers enduring the forgettable records just to see “Bad and Boujee” performed live; nor will it quell any future “Migos Nights” at Atlanta Hawks games; nor will it stop the bag.

But when one considers how often star artists are able to completely command the anticipation, it becomes clear that Culture II will go down as a missed opportunity to obtain immortality. An opportunity that may never come again.

DJ Premier & Royce Da 5’9 Comin’ Back as PRhyme Dropping  their 1st video this year

DJ Premier & Royce Da 5'9 Drop 1st Video From "PRhyme 2"

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images

As the release date for PRhyme 2 inches closer, masterminds DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9 are back with a new visual for “Era” featuring Dave East. Throughout the video, we see a Ku Klux Klan member get choked out and a preacher repeatedly shout, “You supposed to be the future” as Preemo cuts it up in the middle of a crowd.

PRhyme 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2014’s PRhyme and is expected to arrive on March 16.

Pre-orders are available here.

The thirst for DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9’s collaborative project— PRhyme 2 — has been real since the original edition dropped in 2014. After announcing a release date of March 16 last month, the Gang Starr legend and Detroit underground rap vet have unveiled the first single and cover art for the 17-track album.

Titled “Era,” the track features Dave East and quickly reminds fans why this duo has been missed. Against a sparse, bass-heavy beat, Royce and East swap verses about feeling out of place or “in the wrong era.”

Pre-orders for PRhyme 2 are available here.
Check out the cover art below and “Era” above.

DJ Premier confirmed to HipHopDX that the long awaited, almost mythical PRhyme 2 was done last November. Now, it looks like the Royce Da 5’9 and Preemo collab has a release date. As listed on the Fat Beats website, the album is expected to arrive on March 16 and pre-orders are available now.

The tracklist, cover art and featured artists will be revealed the first week of February as stated on the website.

Preemo and Nickel Nine dropped the original PRhyme in 2014 to critical acclaim. In fact, DX dubbed it Album of the Year in 2014.

DX reached out to Premier who was not immediately available for comment.

(The original version of this article was published on November 2, 2017 and can be found below.)

DJ Premier has just announced a partnership with the iconic Payday Records imprint, which helped launch the careers of Hip Hop greats like Showbiz & A.G., JAY-Z, and WC and the Maad Circle.

Helmed by Patrick Moxey, Gang Starr’s former manager, the label’s first track is a collaborative single between Preemo and A$AP Ferg, something the legendary turntablist mentioned on social media Wednesday (November 1).

But as Preemo was discussing the Payday Records endeavor with DX, he also casually mentioned PRhyme 2 with Royce Da 5’9 was, in fact, completed. The highly anticipated album serves as the sequel to the duo’s 2014 debut, PRhyme

“I’m just helping him [Moxey] get it launched by doing a grip of singles and then he’ll take it from there since he managed me through our entire Gang Starr career,” Preemo told HipHopDX. “We had a great journey together, so I’m happy to rock with him. I’m still doing my Year Round and TTT [To The Top] labels. NYGz is next on Year Round. Well, PRhyme 2 is actually next, but me and Royce [Da 5’9] share PRhyme Records.”

He added, “We just finished it this morning.”

Although there’s no specific release date as of yet, Preemo hopes it will be released at the top of 2018.

Preemo also discussed the new MC Eiht video for “Got That,” which comes from their collaborative album, Which Way Iz WestWith Preemo in the role of executive producer and Eiht in charge of enlisting a killer roster to assist on vocals, the 15-track album plays like a ’90s gangsta rap masterpiece.

Following “Heart Cold” featuring Lady of Rage, the latest visual took some clever planning to execute.

“Eiht was in New York to do the Rock Steady Anniversary, so when I saw the rough cut of ‘Heart Cold’ with Lady Of Rage, I found a freezer in the same building where my new studio is located,” Premier tells HipHopDX. “My friend DJ Poe had only a couple hours to bring his camera to shoot it because [director] Jae Synth lives in Sacramento. They let us use the freezer to shoot my parts and Eiht brought the same jacket so that it would match the Los Angeles footage.

“After we were done, Poe had less than an hour to go to work,” he continues. “So, he asked if there’s anything else to shoot before he leaves, so I threw on ‘Got That’ since we could capture me rapping the hook. He gave me what footage he had and I gave it to Jae for editing. The rest is history.”

Eiht adds, “Being able to combine that street element with working with Preemo in an actual studio was the idea. We wanted to show we have the ability to remain raw with the streets and realness of Hip Hop.”

Check out the video above as we await PRhyme 2.

Migos sat down with Big Boy TV for an interview last Friday (January 26) where Offset made a comment declaring they were “the biggest group ever in Hip Hop.” Rather than argue with the Atlanta trio, host Big Boy let it ride.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s Bizzy Bone evidently took issue with that. In a video uploaded earlier this week, the 41-year-old MC went off on Big Boy, blasting him for letting them stake that claim and pointing out media was to blame.

“You’re all in the position to be like, ‘Y’all niggas do kind of sound like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, so what do the Migos think of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony?’ None of you niggas have asked them that. What, y’all bitch made? Y’all scared? Y’all hoes niggas? None of you interviewing muthafuckas ask ’em that? None of y’all?

“So that ain’t got nothing to do with them little niggas,” he continues. “They don’t know anything other than what the muthafuckas in the position to be like this is real Hip Hop tells them. You can’t expect for these niggas to respect Nas if y’all don’t! You niggas don’t respect Nas, how the fuck is Lavar Ball going to respect it? It’s y’all. Y’all the problem!”

The thuggish ruggish rap legend went on to say that most rappers avoid working with him for fear he’ll outshine them.

“It [rapping] ain’t going to stop until I’m done muthafuckas, until I feel like breathing,” he says. “Went up to the homie DJ D-Wrek — years ago — the nigga that worked with Nick Cannon.

“That nigga slid up on me and said, ‘Let me tell you something Biz,” he continued. “He said, ‘Niggas in this industry is afraid of you. They know what you can do. They know you dope as fuck. They dare not get on a track with because you are going to eat them alive.’ Alive. Niggas don’t want that kind of heat.”

In a second video, Bizzy reasserts he and the rest of his Bone Thugs brethren have been doing this since way before Migos ever came along.

“1991. It’s documented bitch!” he says.

Bizzy wasn’t alone in his sentiments. Turk of Hot Boys also chimed in on Big Boy’s Migos interview earlier this week, saying, “For a nigga to say they the best group ever – not the best group right now that’s doing they thing – but the best group ever, man that’s some real disrespectful-ass, foul-ass shit right there.”

He added, “I wouldn’t be right, me being in a group that was big, that niggas emulate to this day, including the muthafuckin’ Migos.”

R&B\Soul Singer Dennis Edwards (of The Temptations) Died at age of 74 R.I.P

reference :

Dennis Edwards, the legendary lead singer of The Temptations, has passed away at age 74, according to CBS Chicago. Members of his family confirmed the news on Friday (February 2).

Edwards, who was born in Alabama and raised in Detroit, died in Chicago ahead of his 75th birthday, which he would have celebrated on Saturday (February 3). The cause of death wasn’t disclosed.

The Motown Records sensations — responsible for classic songs like “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and “I Can’t Get Next to You” — were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.

Edwards joined The Temptations in 1968, replacing the group’s second singer David Ruffin (the original singer was Elbridge “Al” Bryant). He was the lead singer from 1968 to 1976 and worked with the group in subsequent reunions during the ’80s.

The Temptations’ music has been sampled by numerous Hip Hop artists, including Eric B. & Rakim, 2Pac, Common, Jadakiss, Kanye West, Public Enemy, J Dilla, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, Cut Chemist and Kool G Rap.

Tributes for Edwards have started pouring in on social media.

Martin TV Sitcom Show is Comin’ Back within its reboot rumors

"Martin" Cast Reunion Sparks Reboot Rumors

BURBANK, CA – Tisha Campbell-Martin has sparked rumors of a possible Martin reboot after she reposted an Instagram photo with former co-stars Martin Lawrence and Tichina Arnold on Thursday (February 1).

TMZ also spotted the trio leaving a Burbank steakhouse earlier Thursday but when asked about the possibility of Martin reboot, they refused to confirm of deny the rumors.

Adding fuel to the fire, Lawrence’s wife-to-be Roberta Moradfar posted a Martin logo to Instagram on January 26 with the caption, “Got word from my fiancé that my favorite show may be coming back.”

When asked about the post in an interview with HipHollywood, Campbell-Martin answered, “I can’t tell you anything … But it’s very exciting.”

Martin went off the air in 1997. During the show’ final season, Campbell-Martin refused to shoot scenes with Lawrence after accusing him of sexual harassment.

If a reboot show is in the works, there’s one actor who would be noticeably absent. Former co-star Tommy Ford, who played “Tommy,” passed away in October 2016 at age 52.

Campbell-Martin, who played “Gina” on the hit show, has also returned to the music scene. On Thursday (February 1), she released a new single, “I Don’t Wanna Be Alone” featuring Rich The Kid. Produced by Deezy Baby, the track serves as her first release since 2015’s “Steel Here.”

“As an artist, you want to affect people and I always talk about how important it is to remember that it ain’t about us!,” she said in a press release. “We’re supposed to serve others and it’s an honor. On the real — That’s what keeps me going and keeps me humble. With the Simone Biles Story; Courage to Soar coming out, the single dropping and the recent reconnection with my old cast members, I have say… it’s be an honor to be able to serve ya’ll and express myself in different ways.”

Busta Rhymes Claims Next Album Is His “Most Compelling” Ever

reference :

Busta Rhymes has been talking about a new album for years. Last July, he posted multiple photos to Instagram that all included “album soon come” in the caption. Now, the Hip Hop stalwart tells Billboard this almost mythical album will top his discography, which was capped of with 2012’s Year of the Dragon.

After delivering “Get It” featuring Missy Elliott and Kelly Rowland on Friday (February 2), it appears another Bus-a-Bus album is on its way but, for now, he’s keeping the details to himself.

“The only thing I am going to say is that this is definitely going to be my most compelling body of work that I’ve ever put together. I haven’t dropped an album in retail since 2009. I am really proud of this project. I was very patient with it and took my time. Patience was probably one of my greatest weapons when putting this project together, because there was things I ended up stumbling on that ended up on the album years into the recording.

“I’ve been working on this album on and off for nine years,” he added. “There’s going to be an announcement made soon on the title and we should definitely be having this album drop before the midway point of 2018.”

Busta also spoke on his upcoming Mountain Dew commercial with the aforementioned Supa Dupa Fly MC, Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman that’s expected to air during Super Bowl LII on Sunday (February 4).

“It’s an incredible moment and I’m definitely proud of it,” he says. “I think it’s the hottest commercial on the planet. I feel that it’s one of the best commercials in Super Bowl history. It doesn’t get more incredible than [Missy Elliott], Peter Dinklage, and Morgan Freeman coming together.

“Our culture of Hip Hop is being properly represented,” he continues. “It’s a great bag of energy and vibes. I loved doing it — the experience on the set was incredible and watching people’s energy over it was even more fulfilling for me. I’m basking in the moment.”

Are Kanye West, Talib Kweli, And Yasiin Bey Working On Something For 2018?

On Wednesday, Talib Kweli took to Instagram to post a photo of Kanye WestYasiin Bey, and Dave Chappelle all sitting at a table together writing notes.

READ: Talib Kweli And Yasiin Bey Are Performing Three Halloween Shows As Black Star

It’s difficult to see what is being written on the notes but the post has led people to wonder: what’s going on? Are Kweli, West, and Bey working on something? And will Chappelle somehow be involved or is he just a witness to some history in the making?

Some people are speculating that it’s another Black Star album (the collaborative rap duo of Kweli and Bey), while others jokingly commented that Kweli, Bey, and Chappelle are trying to pull West out of The Sunken Place.

Last year, Kweli and Bey performed three Halloween shows together as Black Star, hitting Santa Ana, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Over the summer, Kweli and Bey were also guests at Chappelle’s Radio City Music Hall run, celebrating the comedian’s 30th anniversary as a stand-up, and eventually, his 44th birthday.
